Hood Scoop

On the 04 mustangs the hood scoop is not an active air intake. I am wondering if I could just take the hood off and cut out a square in the material in the hood to make it active? I really do not think this will work but technically I am wondering if it could provide better airflow.

your not going to get any better airflow becouse its not even going to go in the engine. if you want better airflow you should get the shaker hood scoop then it will work.

you could get a different hood that might allow some air to the engine bay for a tiny air flow increase......or you could get the mach 1 hood scoop/hood, but that's a pretty expensive thing that looks really cool, but doesn't do anything for power increase. So really neither of them will gain you any power if that's what your looking for.

oh alright thanks for the input :)

I was thinking of doing the same until I realized that the scoop is just a piece of plastic snapped on top top of the hood, and not sealed so no air would really go into the engine, even if I made duct work to do so.
