Clogged Storm Drains Blow

So on Friday, it rained pretty heavy up at school and where I parked my car, the storm drain near by clogged so my car sat in 1-2' of water that night. The next day, I see junk stuck on the sides of my door so I check inside and on my floor mats up front, there was a small puddle and the carpet was at its max saturation point. So, how much of a pain is is to take the seats and carpet out? I was thinking of renting a carpet cleaner from a super market. Would it be better to clean the carpet inside or outside of the car? Any suggestions of what to do?

Pull out the seats and carpet. The seats are very easy to pull out. 4 15mm bolts per seat. The side panels on the floor pull right off. The center console is also easy to pull out, so pulling the carpet shouldnt be a problem. You should pull the carpet out and use an extractor to clean it. Make sure you use something that will KILL any mildew, not cover it up. Pull the carpet out, clean that, and use mildew killer on the floor board.

I can see the two rear bolts for the seats but are the front bolts for the seats hidden under something? Or do I just need to move the seat back/forward?

Move the seat all the way back and youll see them.

Sounds good. Anybody have other sugestions to clean the carpet (besides a Rug Doctor)?

Bump. Any other suggestions for cleaning or is the Rug Doctor the best bet?

Thats the only way to do it man, better get it done ASAP. The longer you wait the worse it gets.

that's the way to go. I'd splash a gallon of alcohol over the carpet to try and kill the mold... you don't want that stuff to get a foothold.

The reason I had to wait this long was because this is something I can't do at school. Well, if that's the only way, that's how I'm doing it. Hopefully tonight I'll be able to gut the interior so that tomorrow I can just clean it and still find time to go to work.
