does anyone have pics of a roll bar installed? i'm thinking about getting a 4-point kit from Jegs or a custom made. I also wanna keep the rear seat in use. i'm looking at 94-98's specifically but anything works. any ideas? what are the pros and cons of rollbars? thanks for helping out a newb
i am asking for my parent's sake, they want me to put one in for safety, a GT and a 17.5 year old teen, dont mix well in their eyes

You're not gonna have much luck installing one that keeps the rear seat area very useful. It's a compromise you'll have to make. A 4 point cage would use the least amount of room back there, but if you don't want to lose the rear seat, you'd more than likely need it bent to fit through the speaker grill, or the side panels. You also probably want to remove the lower crossbar, which IMO, makes it pointless in the first place. If you a driving hard enough to flip a mustang on the street, you shouldn't be driving in the first place.

Tell your parents that roll bars are a bad idea for just a stock car. Whether your are 17 or not, they shouldnt have bought you the car if they werent comfortable with your driving skills. Im not an old guy busting your balls either, as Im 17 as well. A roll bar in a stock car can be even worse for you in an accident if you hit your head on it. In a roll over situation, our seatbelts are designed for us to be able to slide over sideways into the pass seat or floorboard area so we dont get crushed. Tell them not to be so worried, as you wont be subjecting yourself to much roll over possibility driving normally. If you get competitive with your car in drag racing or road racing, maybe look into it, but dont drive around with a roll bar in your car just because it makes your car "safer." Spend the money on better brakes, subframe connectors, and good suspension. Also, learn to respect the power more than anything, and dont drive like a madman. That should keep you safer than a roll bar would. Have fun with your car, hope Im not sounding like a preacher, but dont get so worked up (your parents anyways) about the roll bar thing. They are just as likely to roll their car as you are(which is very unlikely in the first place) Drive safe, have fun, and keep the rubber side down.

What if you have a vert that runs faster than 11.5
How do you get a decent compromise between safety and cruising with friends and the top down? A full roll bar would probably look silly in my car and the (style) light bar probably isn't gonna do too much for safety.
