Oil filter relocation

Anybody out there running an oil filter relocation on their car? I've been searching around for a kit and found a couple but they are either cheesy lookin or high price tag. Looking for something that doesn't look like it will break but does cost an arm and a leg.

why would you want to relocate the oil filter? Never heard of that.

I want to relocate it because right now it's not easy to put the filter in with oil in it. After I put in the new motor the clutch cable was on the headers so I tweaked a little and now the cable is right over the filter. Also relocating the filter would put it vertical instead of horizontal making oil changes less messy.

whatever makes you happier and the garage floor cleaner i guess...good luck

I have seen the kits. I know general rule of thumb is don't put the relocation kit any further away from the factory filter location than you have to. I have seem them done with no problems. If its going to help you out, I say do it. I've thought about it on mine just to make changing the oil a little cleaner.

I went ahead and bought a kit from Summit today. It uses a bigger filter and will increase the oil capacity maybe by a quart.

so the only reason you are moving it is so its cleaner when you change the oil?

There is more to it than just having a cleaner oil change. Like I said in my last post, it will use a bigger filter, increase oil capacity and yes it will make it easier to change the filter and less messy. Before my new motor went in, oil changes were not that bad but now it is a pain in the a$$ with the clutch cable right in my way.
