Mustang diet time

I'm trying to get my car to shed a few unwanted pounds and wondering where would be the best place to start. As of now my car weighs exactly 3400 with 18" saleens, full interior, removed spare and jack, and me in it. I'm trying to get it down to 3200 with me in it so I really want to drop 200lbs. Where should I start?

The AC system weights 40 lbs so you can start there. Also, though it may not reduce overall weight, relocate the battery to the passenger side of the trunk since that's about 40 lbs off the front. You can also go ricer style by removing the back seats and the passenger seat. Apart from removing your entire interior and the rest of your creature comforts, the only thing I can suggest for further reduction is aftermarket parts like a new k-member, etc.

200 hundred pounts really a difference?

every 100lbs equals .1 in the quarter mile... and I'm definentely not taking out AC or front seats. Thinking about doing rear seat delete but not going to gut the interior being that it is a daily driver.

well the a/c removal will have you almost 25% at your goal...if your talking about shaving time on the quarter then removing your a/c would be the best thing for you. If its not a mostly drag car then dont worry about stripping weight.
