Ok, now for shocks/struts

Ok, now since Ive decided on the H&R sports, I need some shocks and struts to go with them. Im looking seriously at the Tokico HP blues. Anyone with experience, are they a good shock, and also, are they the same as the Mach 1 struts/shocks? Thanks guys. LOL, and you thought you were done answering my questions... :director:

Lances03SVT 05-27-2005 09:50 PM

H&R's  The KYB shocks and struts sold here would be great and so would the Tokico's.

i suggest tokico 5way adjustable drag struts. they are adjustable from a nice springy drag setting down to a good handling setting. the drag setting miight come useful at the track since the lowering springs cost you some traction on the launch. i use these struts and love them. they are a bit pricey though. as for shocks, i stil use stockers.

madmatt 05-28-2005 07:14 AM

Yea, I dont drag race at all really, and just want something that hugs the corners. I just figured the tokicos would be nice and Ive read that they are a good strut/shock used with the H&R sports.

dom 05-28-2005 07:23 AM

oh ok no drag racing at all. i cant help ya :)

madmatt 05-28-2005 07:47 AM

LOL, not by choice, ill tell ya that. But I still live at home, so, what mom says, goes. Poor poor pitiful me.

madmatt 05-28-2005 08:56 AM

Nah, ive heard they squeek creek and make other noises.

dom 05-28-2005 09:05 AM

i have heard great things about teh strange 10ways. if my stock shocks go bad ill get those. i have a drag setup.
steeda alum lcas, double adj ucas, tokico drag struts 5ways, eiback drag springs, no swaybars,

madmatt 05-31-2005 06:26 PM

Well, since I have the Steeda sports, do you guys think the Mach 1 shocks/struts will do me fine? Or what should I use.

Anyone have any experience?

I bought the Mach 1 but I haven't installed them yet, that is going to happen this weekend. From all the research I did it looked like for the money this was the way to go. I didn't want adjustable shocks, b/c I knew I wouldn't adjust them so no need to pay for it!

I can let you know how they are next week!

I bought front and rear KYB AGX 8 way adjustables on ebay for a helluva lot less than anywhere I have seen. I paid $360 with shipping.

They also have bilstein or tokico illuminas for $450 on ebay or the tokico d spec for a bit more $$.

They Tokico HP are nearly identical to the mach 1/bullit shocks/struts which are also similar to the KYB G2. The KYB are 250 shipped on ebay.

If I was going to spend the $$ I would go Bilstein, they are the best but you will pay more for them.

owentl 06-01-2005 08:00 AM

I gave $210 shipped for the Mach 1, for what it is worth

dmark101 06-01-2005 08:38 AM

i've heard good things about the KYB AGX's. i also know from having tokico illuminas on my other 2 cars that these are very good struts/shocks as well.

can't go wrong with either.

Awesome, I think im going with the Mach ones. But who knows, I change my mind like my underpants so...
