i went ahead and purchased the steeda clutch package (cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster) awhile back when i installed a spec stage 2. Ive put about 5,000 miles on the clutch with only a handfull of good hard runs on the street and a few at the track. well, the other day the cable gave way. i read after i installed the new cable that the steeda cables were not the best cables in the world. in fact i read they were prone to breaking and that the stock cables were better. well i hate the way the stock cable feels and i was wondering if anyone has an opinion on the UPR cables. my local performance shop recommended the UPR. any imput on these cables would be great. thanks

Use the stock cable. It's the best thing going out there as far as clutch cables. I can't believe the steeda one gave out after 5,000 miles. What happened to it? I don't understand what you mean when you say you don't like how the stock cable feels. Its a cable. It should feel just like the aftermarket ones. It's the clutch that changes how the pedal feels.

the cable came apart in side the outer cover (it un-raveld). the stock cable is to short with the steeda quadrant so it lets out at the very end. there is no play in the clutch peddle at all and there should be a littel at the top side. it is causing tension on the TOB and it makes a lot of noise. it was just replaced and should not make any noise. also the car has a vibration at iddle that make the center console panels in the car rattle, which is anoying the piss out of me. it didnt do that before i took it in so i dont know what else to relate the rattleing to.

I also have an 03 and am using the steeda quadrant and firewall adjuster and the STOCK CABLE. I have no problems with it being too short or long. Maybe you need to adjust the firewall adjuster. Are these things you installed?

no i did not install them i had my local performance shop install them. the firewall adjuster is all the way in and it still has no play at the top and lets out at the very top. any idea on the TOB making all that noise since it was just installed a week ago. i dont think that is right.
