All the sudden both of the switches on my drivers side won't work. The passenger side window works perfectly. The fuse looks fine, and if the passenger side still works (the switch on the passenger side) then it can't be the fuse. My unlock/lock button works, but the two switches for the windows on my driver side won't work. Ahhhh, any suggestions?
bout the same thing happend to me. except JUST the driver side window wouldn't work, i could unroll the pass. window from the driver side, but not the driver side window. i remedied this problem by waiting about a week and it started working again. idk what happend, but it's been working fine since so i'm happy :-) lol.
that's a good thing to know for future reference. i had plans of replacing my motor (thought it was that) which i heard from the mechanic i was gonna have do it that they were a pita. next time i'll clean the contacts, then bang on my door, and if that don't work....just stop goin' thru drive thru's lol.
I have had the same problem. The copper contacts on the switch get oxidized and coated with armoral and stuff liek that. I got tired to cleaning mine, so I eventually replaced the switch assembly.
You can pull it out and take it apart. The contacts are a pain in the *** to clean.
hey im having the same problem with my convertiable back windows. Driver side wont let down, and the passenger side will quit working sometimes. So do I need to pull the door bezel off to clean the contact or do i just to to take the buttons off? And what did you us to clean them? I have a 2001 GT
a couple days ago i bought a 02 mustang. today the driver side window just randomly quit working (while rolled down) so i googled it to see if this was a common issue and sure enough i found this link.so i created an account here because i wanted to thank y'all for the help on knowing to hit the door panel by the speaker, it worked first try! just curious to know why hitting it by the speaker? wouldnt the contact tabs be right there by the switch? oh well, thanks again for the info! i just hope more people read this and don't get jew'd by auto shops.
