dont use their cable because youll be in the same place in 3 months. go with an oem cable.

bassman97 02-05-2007 06:33 PM

MM has a nice quadrant/firewall adjuster kit that uses that stock cable. It still puzzles me how Ford thought that a thin piece of plastic is going to hold up to the force of the clutch and your foot (especially on fast shifts).

I'm still on my stocker...108k and no problems...:D

lmao, Matt you're just mad because every day that my car continues to move your anti aftermarket cable crap goes out the window!

:argue:

:attention_whore:

Im just kidding Matt! I just think it's funny that I can prove you wrong every time!

MattJ 02-05-2007 07:21 PM

bet ill find more examples of steedas quadrant kit cable snapping than you find them still togeather in one peice... and name one time youve proved me wrong...

id be willing to make a public paypal wager on this as well.

How many times are you going to ask me to find examples Matt? Like I just said, im jfwu!

And I prove your wrong Every time that you say that aftermarket cables suck as soon as my car moves (which is every day.) :nunu:

lmfao

MattJ!

MattJ 02-05-2007 07:27 PM

Ive said it about 3 times. Why do I say it? Its because they are GARBAGE. You suck, your car is slow, and your steeda cable doesnt snap because you cant shift fast in your high heels and skirt. you are too busy prepping your make-up from your purse.

sally...

Not sure where this cable replacement crap came from cause OEM is the only way to go, but mines not broken or stretched so its not going anywhere. Just a quick release steeda quadrent is going in. There are actul peices of the plastic quadrent under my dash.

I love there distription its me to a T:
"The factory plastic self-adjusting quadrant is fine for stock clutches, but when you add a heavy duty clutch or some fast power-shifts, it starts to bend. This unwanted flex causes inconsistent clutch engagement and missed shifts at best, plus worn synchronizers and a broken quadrant at worst. Replace that weak plastic clutch quadrant with Steeda's super strong billet aluminum "Quick Release" quadrant. The strong flex free billet quadrant design stands up to the hardest shifts."

I still love powershifting.

jjtgiants 02-05-2007 08:48 PM

Yeah, I wouldn't put a steeda clutch cable on my car either. I have the UPR quadrant and firewall adjuster and it works pretty good....can't go wrong with steed either....just not their cable. Ford OEM cable FTW.

ClemsonStang 02-05-2007 09:23 PM

hell i put a cheap ass UPR quadrant kit in my car when the cable stretch leaving me semi stranded at college. ordered the stuff in, put the quadrant, firewall adapter, and cable in the parking lot, and drove it home. had to stop and tighten the jam nut on the side of the interstate though. the second RAM HD clutch killed the cable...

doesnt matter a ton which cable you go with, the jury is still out.

spike_africa 02-07-2007 02:16 PM

Well it is the quadrent like i thought i got under there with a flashlight and it stripped alot of the teeth off thus causing my problem. I guess there right between the powershifts and stiffer clutch the stocker cant take it.

I am looking to go either double hook steeda quadrent and firewall adjuster (screw adjustable cables i want nothing ot do with them) or the quick ratio quadrent and firewall adjuster.

Has anyone rocked the quick ratio one before? only thing i am wondering is it says it makes it alot more stiff then factory and i wonder how much that really is.

Otherwise i will order the double hook and firewall adj. tomarrow and hopefully get it early next week or if im lucky this saturday. cause having 2" of clutch engagment sucks for driving my car :(

bassman97 02-07-2007 02:56 PM

MM says the quick ratio causes problems by disengaging th clutch too far screwing up the fingers and springs on the pressure plate. However, w/ a pedal height adjuster, I'm sure this can be avoided.

spike_africa 02-07-2007 05:06 PM

well that answers that double hook quadrent it is.

venom 02-07-2007 05:13 PM

Just get the Double quadrant with the firewall adj and call it a day you just open your hood and turn the knob.

spike_africa 02-08-2007 09:04 AM
