So i actually got some rotors . . .

So yea after all my bitching about why not to upgrade your brakes . . . i got a set of rotors :shakeno:

I asked for a set and i got them for xmas. I wanted them because i believe my stock rotors are warping (when the wheels are off the ground you turn the tire and you hear the scraping) but only on the front. So i got "Mustang Powerslot Rotors (Front Pair 94-04 GT/V6)" from AM.com They are slotted. . i guess thats good? w/e I just hope they arnt too much heavyer then stock :nunu:

I guess perhaps i should get some calipers before i do it so i have it all done nice? i duno gimme some sudjestions.

you need wheels. Sucks i just rememberd that, i recently gave away a set of 4 black bullitt rims and tires for $100 bucks. Had them in my back yard forever and needed the money. Im in miami.

He's not that kind of guy...

get a set of take off 99-04 GT calipers and pads. They are dual piston (pretty sure if i remember correctly 94-95 is single piston) and they are a better caliper and should bolt right onto your 94 caliper braket. You can find them used for very cheap all over modulardepot, ebay etc....

i was wondering about that, i THOUGHT that v6 and GT's had the same brakes . . . but of course im a 94. Also i dont know about issues with ABS systems on non-abs cars.

ive got front and rear calipers. youd just need pads for them and youd have a nice setup.

what do you want for them?

you got a pm

I liked my old powerslots. I'd go with some EBC green stuff pads for the front and call it a day. Stock pads in the rear should be fine. The stock calipers from 99+ are t3h sh1znit and if you can get a set cheap I'd slap em on. otherwisee, your stock calipers are fine. IF you were a V8 car I'd be telling you to exchange them for 13" parts and a set of calipers.

why does it matter if i am a v8 car?

r3dn3ck 12-26-2006 01:10 PM

because the v8 weighs down the front end pretty significantly over the v6, so the front wheel brakes should really be 13" in any high performance application. I manage to find the limit of stock brakes on v8 cars super fast... I've expounded on those experiences before. So you should be pretty familiar with my position on balanced and properly sized braking systems.

The stock brakes are fine for 6ers but slap that v8 in front and you lose all the benefits of the lighter brakes by not having enough heat soak capacity.

oh . . makes sence.

Im not too worried about that stuff

r3dn3ck 12-26-2006 09:51 PM

yeah... like I said till you get a v8 in that thing you're ok with stockers. I still like the 99+ calipers though. Much more even application of pad pressure and 2 piston look better IMO.

they do but your year car has the old single piston setup that sucks. look for 99-04 calipers they bolt right on to your spindel i do belive rusty.

r3dn3ck 12-27-2006 07:20 AM

they should in fact bolt right up. I've done a couple retrofits to <99 cars. Makes enough difference at high speeds to be worth it. Check the San Fran area Craigslist. There's some dude selling a set hella cheap.

spike_africa 12-27-2006 09:59 AM

there so many local guys around here with the 13" upgrade he should be able to do it cheap.

MattJ 12-27-2006 09:06 PM

i told him i have fronts and rears with under 50k.

buy em, they are taking up space.
