2006 or 2005???????

hey guys been lookin around for a few days getting used to these forums.(been in the charger forums)
so i guess i could give some background, im 17 now and my first real car back in 01 was a 99 GT. I loved it, great car real fast for me at the time.Kept the car till about 9 months ago where it was having a great amount of problems so i sold it.
My father bought a new 2006 charger R/T and when hes not using it i am, much much faster than the old gt obviously, posted with 340hp 390tq with real numbers being around 274rwhp and 290rwtq-car weigh an astounishing 4,100lbs. anyways my dad was gonna give me the R/T and get himself a nice truck, but i've been thinking lately, i dont really want an automatic and i love going out on sat. nights having fun with my friends and our cars, plus the charger is a bit too flashy for me ya know?
So obviously im here right so that means im thinking about getting a mustang, im especially looking at the 05-06 models and i've heard alot of stories that the 05 is slower than the 06 i REALLY wanna know if they have been changed that one is in fact faster than the other whetehr it be long term or short just wanna know.
thanks for any help you guys give and hopefully i'll have an 05-06 GT 5spd by december :):breakdancesmilie:

I've never heard of a difference between 05 and 06 other than the problems they had with the fuel system on 05's was fixed by 06. I'd take the 06... never take the first model year of any body style. Wait a year or two till the bugs are worked out then get one.

I like the charger though... that's one helluva pimp lookin ride.

thanks!

the charger is nice but, im not the show off kinda guy with the big rims and all that and i like performance nothing is really out for the charger and those who do come out with stuff are like h/c and s/c are throwing prices way up since they are the first, not to mention a guy on the charger forums finally hit 12.80's but has h/c and a 100 shot of nitrous!:eek2: not to mention the trap was 115.

so im hoping i can get this 06 get some straight pipes-or ecutouts cams and other goodies and get myself burried in the 12's :D

by the way how little is needed to get these cars hitting 12's, i was searching streetfire and a guy there(idk if he is on these forums) name nino has a 12.80's stang with cai, exhaust and a tune along with take back seats and passenger seat off..possible or is he just a really really good driver?

Umm neither. Take the Charger. My Mom has one and theres no way it will be a GT off the line but from a roll it would be pretty close. Throw an intake, tune and maybe a mild NOS kit and that thing will be amazing! Those seats are so comfortable too!

LOL charger is very comfortable, but it is expensive and to be paying for the car and wanting to hook it up is not in my price range and it is definately not fast enough for me to keep stock, so am going to get a stang. i dont see that many people on this forum with the newer stangs i was hoping i'd get any kind of advice form them on what kind of 06 to look for, i hear there is two different finals for the 5spd? other thingsd like that would help :)

oh here is a pic of the charger i been driving and my friends ls1

you're going to replace the rear gears anyway so ignore them...

to get a 05+ into the 12's you'll need a CAI, tune and gears. Done.

To BURY a 05+ deep in the 12's add a 75-100 shot and some drag radials. The 05's stock are in mid to low 13's depending on the driver so there's not far to go.

sounds great, from what i've read on the forums the sct is a great tuner, i'll have to look up more on the different cai's, and then i'll get my gears, mikronited
