wieght reduction

how much weight would i take off my car if i got a carbon fiber trunk lid and hood? is it even worth all the money? each piece is like $400

umm i believe for every 100 pounds you lose its .1 of the 1/4 but i could be wrong.........ur not even gunna lose close to that so you realy wont see any difference at all

The stock trunk is mostly pretty light and it's over the rear tires where you need weight so I'd leave that. The hood you can easily lose 20+lbs going to CF and if you can afford it, go for it. If you want to really lose weight from the car, then replace the factory seats with something super light like Corbeau Forza's. Just switching to Forza's lost ~100lbs off my car. They're not the most comfy seat but they're sick light.

Switching to coil overs up front will drop another 30lbs or so too. Pulling the back seats will drop about another 40 if you pull the bracket.

B-rett, that's generally considered correct. .1sec for every 100lbs in the 1/4. Depends on a lot of things but that's the rule of thumb everyone uses and it's usually pretty well correct.

see, since a civic is front wheel drive, they leave their hoods cause they need the weight, and they get carbon fiber trunklids since they don't need the traction back there lol.
