SCT Xcal2 allow to rev higher?
hey i was jsut thinking if when u get your car dyno tuned with an Xcal2 if it allows you to rev higher then 6grand. my friend's RSX-S allows him to rev much higher when getting a tune so thats what sparked my question.

yes. I had mine done with the xcal and TIM from MPH put the rev limit up to 6300 RPM's

You can but you dont make any power with basic mods so its pointless.

also you dont wanna rev too much higher than stock anyhow due to the fact of floating a valve. You would need to upgrade your valvetrain. Honda/Acura's can rev to 8200-9000rpms do to having a factory beefed valvetrain system, altho they usually dont last too long.

so not worth it unless its got super or turbocharged or nos basically? the tune still give u power regardless of where ur revv is set at right? supposively the more mods u have the more power the tune will give u?

You need to log your cars acceleration rate in order to figure out where you should be shifting. There are also calcs. out there that can figure out your optimum shift point. However, logging it is the BEST way. Its also important to realize where your RPM's are after the shift. You want to keep the car in the power band the ENTIRE time.
