Spec & Centerforce clutch guys need some feedback.

So i am having the hardest time ever choosing a clutch for my car. Its either gonna be a Centerforce Dual Friction or Spec Stage 2. My car is a daily driver that see's up to 200 miles a week. So i was looking at these two because they hold all the power a stock short block can handle and should be pretty daily driver good as far as chater and pedal stiffness. But i just cant choose because of the bad things i hear from SPec and centerforce users.

So i know alot of guys here run these so what is your feedback on them as far as chatter and pedal feel?

I am leanning more towards spec as alot of guys use them and they seem to be hard as nails. Plus then i can support mustangtuning.com which i would kinda like ot do aswell. Looking to buy within the next 2 days.

i have a spec stage one and i like it a lot, no chatter, it gives you a nice amount a pressure when engaging, no problems yet but its only 700-800 miles in so far

I dont have either clutch but alot of people I know run the SPEC series and love them. Hope this helps a little.

On my 03 I will be upgrading the clutch soon and I will be going the SPEC 3 as well.

A friend of mine has a Centerforce stage 3 dual friction and hates it! It chatters alot when it engages. He's planned on a Spec stage 3 already.

My buddy had a spec stage II on his 1997 mustang gt ive driven numerous times. Its driveability is real close to stock but has slightly increased petal pressure. I hopped in and had zero problems rippin on that car and that clutch sure did grab.
I know spec had (or mabye still has) some inspection issues where some deffective clutches went through and that might be the reason for the bad name. You just have to inspect the clutch and make sure everything is straight and sound and have it installed by someone who knows what they are doing and you arent going to hae chatter and problems.

If I ever needed to get a new clutch, it would be a spec stage 2 without any questions asked.

I love my Centerforce Dual Friction...I already had a SPEC clutch..and it chattered like crazy...I myself would stay away from ANY staged SPEC clutch.

Chatter at any basic level is an installment problem or deffective product. and its probably not the latter.

It was a defective clutch.....with that said. SPEC quality sux...Go for the best. He shouldnt have to play that Hit or miss game with SPEC like Most other have. oh...and If he does choose SPEC. Dont use there Throw-out bearing..its half plastic=crap.

Centerforce Dual Friction FTW

Like I said above in the thread, SPEC had a quality control issue where they let some deffective clutches go through. I dont know if thats true now but id still rather run a SPEC than a Centerforce.
