Since my car is a convertible, am I required to install a roll cage to race at the tracks? Also, I would feel a little safer if I had one.
Any suggestions of a good roll cage? |

You need to call or go to their website, they usually will tell you the rules or if you call they will. Were i go, you don't need one, but other places require a 4 point and a helmet if you have a convertible. Also if you keep the top up, they shouldn't ask if you have one.

Go check because it recently changed for 2006.
and what you want is a 'roll bar' not a 'roll cage' a bar is a 4-8pt that has a bar over your head, were as the cage goes down the A-pillers etc. i know before this year the rule was for a coupe, 11.99-10.00 needed a 'bar' were as faster then 10.00 needs a cage. as of 2006 11.50-10.00 needs a bar. I cant say for sure about the vert though

Yeah I dont think it would help much if I flipped. Its more for style.
Thats what I meant...a roll bar, where could I find a good one? and can I take it in and out? |

U can bolt it in or weld it in, but your rear interior side panels will have to have a hole cut for it to connect the rear part of the roll bar. So taking it in and out is possible but it will be a pain in the a$$ to do it. I would just weld it in and call it a day. and yeah the styling bar, i wouldn't call it a life saver. |

Weld the bar in, dont bolt it in. Thats like bolting in subframes.
Anything with 8 points or less is a roll bar. Anything with more then 8 points is a cage. |
