YES do it now. The new body style is freaking gorgeous and anyone who says otherwise is just mad they still have an 04 or earlier. (Flame war on
) The interior is really nice as well. You can get a trip computer and the aluminum dash is nice. And you can change the color of the gauge backlights. Plus who wouldn't want 300 stock horses and an extra valve? |

its up to you why ask us? if you like the body style and the new power go for it. They can be damn fast with little mods.

Up to you, the 05+ are nice but not something I'm dying to get. I'd rather have an '03 - '04 Cobra, or stick with the GT and build it.

If you have the finances to do so, they go for it. But if you are getting it new, its going to be over 30K because usually they load the verts up with every option. THey had one at my local Ford dealer for 35K.
I would rather have an 03-04 Cobra Vert or a C5 Z06.

just remember the 05's and newer are a lot harder to use bolt on stuff with because they need reprogramming with even the mildest bolt on parts...a PITA IMO. I learned this from the guys at miles per hour by the way.

315rwhp and 309rwtq or something close to that. He also had 4:10's as well....so I'm thinking it was pretty damn quick. Go for it if you have the funds to do it. ......and Codiddy I would take my Mach over an 05/06 GT every day of the week and twice on sunday! ![]() |

If you have that kind of money go buy yourself an 03-04 cobra convertible and call it a day. You'd be foolish otherwise.

ok i made my statement wrong, but luckily nobody got too pissed.
For LOOKS, in my opinion you can't beat the new body style. For SPEED yes i would still take a Mach or a Cobra over a new GT anyday. I know, why don't you just get the new cobra? Best of both worlds. |

how does it look like it got punched? the hood flares out. lat time i checked when you get punched in the nose it doesn't make your nose come out more. But seeing as how there are way more 04 and earliers on these forums and having an 05+ puts me in the minority. i know i need to watch my words. all i'm saying is the new body style looks like a mustang should. the old body style is all smooth and looks like it could be an import. |

If done right. As opposed to an 06 which just looks mean right from the factory. It just looks like a muscle car. However this whole argument is pretty moot because everyone has their own opinions of what looks cool. i happen to like flared wheel wells and hard angles. if you like a body style thats super smooth and aerodynamic, then you wouldn't really like the new body style. |

I have my 03 sitting next to an 06 everyday in my backyard and my 03 look's a whole lot meaner.
Was at a stop light today with a 06 GT sitting next to me and I was really wanting him to try and race me It did'nt look intimidating to me at all,but the guy in the 06 looked intimidated for sure ![]()

Don't get me wrong I like the new Mustang's but they just don't WOW me like when the 99's came out. That's what changed me to a Ford guy.
They just seem to bulky to me for some reason.

you can't compare a stock 06 GT to a modded earlier GT. if you put all the same mods on that 06 it will beat you because it has more power stock and an extra valve. stock 04 or earlier GT < stock 05+ GT. Like I said it's all preference though. This is a good discussion though. we should keep it going.

Agreed, they do look bulkier, but thats because the wheelbase was stretched by about 6 inches. and they are a little heavier, but only by about 100 pounds. Honestly i liked the old body style too, i just think they keep making mustangs better and better each year. |

No i don't care at all i've even said a bunch of times that i know we just all have different opinions and i think its great that we can all express our opinions without anybody getting pissed. i just can't see exactly what you're talking about. i even keep going out to look at my bumper and try to see it. maybe if you explain it better? Edit: i just went and looked at my bumper real close and i know what you mean now. but it's more like this /, not like this \, if that makes any sense. but yes you are right it does slope inward a tiny bit. I like it because I think it accentuates the flares on the bumper and hood. |
