Default wierd noise on acceleration

Does anyone get a wierd noise when they accelerate from low RPM's like 1000 or less. I get this wierd noise if I let off the cluth too fast in first and the RPM's drop below 1000 and then i gas it before the car dies....or if im in 5th gear at 1000 RPM and I try to gas it. I can't really explain the noise i'm guessing it sounds like a grinding or metal shaking noise.

its not the bogging....maybe the first gear example isnt a good example of what i meant...I get this sound more when i'm in higher gears and accelerating from low RPM's usually from 1000

Why in the world would you have the car in any other gear then first at 1,000 rpms?

yeah my manual does the same thing too.

when im really low on gas and the nearest station is 10 miles away lol. I dunno. What would be the optimum RPM's to be at in each gear?

You are in the wrong gear... you dont want to be in a low RPM with a high gear, yea if you do it right its more fuel efficient but you want to read your manual to find what speed you want to shift at for that. If you are like at 25mph while in 4th or 5th gear and try to floor it you'll get that clanking noise no matter what... just shift back to 2nd or 3rd... low gears have more power than the higher ones....

It's normal clutch chatter. It's just the clutch "spinning" against the flywheel and pressureplate. Most cars will do this at low RPMs and high gear. It's almost a grinding-whining-kind of sound...Again it's normal, just bring the RPMs up alittle...was told it can cause some chatter on the clutch after a while.

I have the same, if not similar problem. The noise I get sounds like gears grinding against each other. No banging, thumping, clunking, just a moderately loud grinding sound. Anywhere over 1200 RPMs, there is no noise. If i'm coasting in 1st gear anywhere from 800 RPM idle to 1200RPM and I gas it to accelerate I get the grinding noise. But if i'm in say 2nd gear and I coast around a corner (without touching the clutch) with the engine rpm's at ~1000 and give it gas to accelerate, I get the grinding noise up until about 1200 RPM. If i'm cruising in 3rd gear and i have to brake to slow down due to traffic or something and my RPM's drop to anything below 1200RPM, and I go to accelerate I will get the grinding noise. See a pattern here? Independent of gear selection, as long as i'm below 1200 I get the grinding noise. Anything above that and she's quiet.

Any ideas?
