Maintenance Question

Tonight I went out with a bunch of friends in my 2001 cobra mustang convertible and we really pushed the car hard. We were going like 120 and **** down hills and **** like that. Anyways, anything I should do after this to help my engine out?

Just keep up on the maintenance and everything should be peachy with the car. I've done a lot worse to them and they just keep on truckin'.

Regular maintenance like plugs/wires/oil changes?

if you don't want to break it, don't beat on it. them's the rules. if you beat on it, don't do it a lot and it won't break as much. 3 passengers and haulin azz means jack. Unless you're drag racing it's a nothing night as far as the car is concerned.

That's good to hear then.

when I bought my 01 it was a contest between the Mustang GT and the 01 Camaro. The abysmal reliability of the Camaro nameplate brought them about even but, on the Ford website they said, "...we designed the Mustang GT's engine for drivers who tend to push their engines hard." That really struck me. It's proven pretty accurate from what I can tell.

Dont over rev it and miss shifts. Also, dont kill yourself or anyone else.

That is some good advice!
If you beat it alot or take it to the track alot, i would recommned more frequent oil changes. I can't think of his name from Royal purple but he said even synthetics has it's breaking points, it'll last way over 3000 miles, but if you beat on your car or take it to the local drag strip, then yeah, the oil is probably broken down and definitley needs the oil changed at 3000 or less, depends on how often you beat it up.
