LOL seriously though, best upgrade for the dollar is going to 4:10's. if you plan on blowing her down the road, go with 3:73's or 3:90's. Fast cheap power you can dump 100 shots of nitrous in a mustang GT and the engine will be fine. Dont expect a lot of power from the boltons. The mustang already has performance parts, so the upgrades are not really worlds beyond what it has stock. keep asking questions, take a look around at what people have. some upgrades just arent worth it, others are. i reccommend gears and a tuner to start out. |
Read, read aand when you are done...read some more.
You need to decide on your goals for the car. Which, if you are like most of us....change constantly. I have had my 2000 GT Vert for 3 years. When I first bought it, I wanted to keep it stock. Now look at me...I have bolt-ons and looks mods. I went with nitrous and now I have a blower.....it never ends. |
Ill give you a word of advice. Skip all the small crap and go big right off the bat. Go with a supercharger setup. If your finances allow it, go with a Kenne Bell 1.7 twin screw. Its 6 grand but youll have 400 at the wheels if your tuner knows what hes doing. If thats a little out of your price range, go with a "mongoose kit" from www.modularpowerhouse.com or even try to find a nice used one from the classifieds over there.
If I could do it all over again, my car would be supercharged and I wouldnt have all this small crap on it. Start big and work your way down instead of going small and trying to work your way up. |

You live 30 minutes from their shop. Go over there and just look at the stuff they do, and talk to em. Chances are, youll see a 900 hp twin turbo cobra, and probably some other sick rides.

yes i would go straight to kenne bell 1.7 twin screw supercharger or the mongoose vortech s/c kit that will not be as powerful but hey its still more power
and god damn i wish i lived that close to mph...i would be over there everyday just sitting in a chair eating popcorn watchin all of those badass cars and if i started all over again with a new mustang with no mods i woulda gone s/c right away (yes i own a V6) but i have spent over like 2 grand on worthless junk... |
June 10th is my appt. @ MPH for gears, Xcal and a tune. I will be installing a Dragon TB and Plenum and also a Steeda CAI between now and then to make the most out of my tune this round. Gonna be fun!!! I can't wait!

before you spend dollar #1, figure out what you want from the car. can't stress that enough. Once you figure out how you want to spend your time behind the wheel, ask what part will get you there. Just asking what to do to it is like asking a hooker what her name is.. whatever you want it to be. Know what I mean.
Step 1... collect underpants. |
