Default OEM Shifter...

I have an '01 BULLITT (like there was another year...) and I have my old '04 V6 T-45 OEM shifter in a box, broken in for about 1500 miles before I put my tri-ax in.

Anyone know if that brand spanking new shifter would work on my T-3650? I flushed my tran fluid a while back and noticed that my shifter was showing it's 60,000 mile age. Some of the internals were rusting and the plastic bushings and rings were completely worn.

The shifter doesn't seem to have anything unique about it, they look the same, there are no stop bolts... Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

If the shifter has the same dimensions as the other one then yes it will work. The only differences should be the Base plate, the mounting points, and the location of the shifter on the base plate. If there are any differences then it wont work.

Ya I think the base is a generic square. It doesn't follow the shape of the top of the trans. I think it will work. I was however hoping to hear a blatent "Yes"... Would've made me feel better about trying it.

I had a short throw on my V6 and I prefer the stock shifter. I'm no drag racer.. no reason to power shift and break ****. I'm an autocrosser slow shifting, fast turning lol.

I agree....whateva floats your boat! ha ha ha....but an aftermarket shifter is sooooooooooo much better than stock.....find a used one that's in good shape. That's what I did and it's been great.
