Installing LCAs and Uppers
 

Any tips on how to install upper and lower control arms smoothly? I want minimal problems so anything is appreciated. I'm not looking foward to doing the uppers looks kinda tight.

The best way for me is to do one at a time, that way the rearend doesn't angle on you and then you will need someone to help push the rearend to line things up. But other than that, it's not hard at all.

some people say to take off your catback so you have enough room.. i didnt but maybe i shoulda because it was a pain in the ass to get the uppers in. my friend used a crowbar while i stuck a ratchet in there to get the other side of the bolt.
it might have been harder for me because i have full length subframe connectors.

the lowers are very easy though, make sure you have 2 jacks so you can change the pinion angle on the differential when you try to bolt it all back together.

also, make sure your ratchet has the little ball thing that holds the sockets on so they dont fall off and get stuck on the upper (pretty much unreachable) side of your chassis where you cant reach it. took me 20 mins with a telescopic magnet to get the socket back out.

i dropped the whole rear end at once, got everything out of the way to make things easier. just use two jacks like i said in my first post and lining up the rear end is easy.

the lowers are easy. when i installed the steeda aluminum uppers, you have to put in new bushings. i let the axle hang, did 1 at a time, used a drill bit to walk around the bushing to remove it. than used a wire brush to get rid of the old ruber, install new bushings, and your done.

Wait. looks like I need to get new brushings since I got these used. I'm assuming I can just go to a auto store for these.

i dont know if all uca need to have bushings installed, but mine did. which control arms did u get?

factory 5 racing...i got them used on ebay

looks like you will need to get a set of bushings too. poly. would be best

ehhh they are cheap i'll just stop by the store and get 2

easiest way for me (and I've done this dozens of times) has been, drop cat back (it's in the way of removing the lowers), jack up axle, remove quad shocks, pull uppers and replace, replace quad shocks, remove lowers 1 @a time and replace, replace cat back. Done.

Have a friend shove on the ends of the axle to get the lowers to line up while you try to put the front bolt in.
