Looking for some stock Mach 1 info

Hey all, since my Mach 1 is all stock right now, all I'm looking for is info on stock 2004 Mach 1's.

I'm just wondering what the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are if anyone on here has run their stock Mach 1's before doing ANY mods.

Also looking for a dyno of a stock Mach 1 because I want to see what my torque and horsepower curve looks like. (Exhaust and other mods change it some, so it has to be stock).

I'm just doing my research and making some calculations to try and find out which route to go when I begin with the mods.

Thanks in advance!

Have you become a member of the Mach 1 registry yet? I know I've refrerred you to that site a few times, but your not going to find info like that here. There is only one other dude that I know that has a Mach on this site...Swervo

wwww.mach1registry.com and then go under forums and they have a 1/4 mile section and I know people have posted their stock times there. You will find times ranging from 13.9-13.1, just depends on the driver. But the car itself capable of very low 13's stock.

Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords ran a 13.1 in back to back runs with a stock 2003 mach 1.....it takes a pretty damn good driver to get those times stock, but it can be done. There was also a video floating around here of a guy with Nitto DR's and Mac Prochamber that ran a 12.6. I think the fastest N/A mach on the registry ran like an 11.6 or something close to it.

I know a local guy who was running 13.3 with his stock mach 1.

We dynoed a stock Mach 1 and it put out 257rwhp, then a couple weeks later with mods. K&N intake, O/R x-pipe, Flowmasters and Diablo tune it put out 273 rwhp.

jjtgiants yea i checked out the site again and found out supposedly the best 0-60 ever on a stock Mach 1 was 4.6 and a 13.11 1/4 mile.

This is all pretty good information, I need it too. I just bought a 2004 Mach 1 today. All I have to say is this thing is pretty freakin' fast right out of the box. :)

Very nice! Your going to freaking love the car.....just so you know DSG Mach's rule all! ha ha ha ha

jjtgiants, The Mach we dynoed was a 5 spd. the HP seemed right where it should be considering the HP at the crank rated by the factory vs. the HP lost through the transmission.

Hey man, you live like an hour from me. We should meet up sometime. There's 2 other black machs over here that I know. One's my friend's wife's an another is a guy on Lejune that I sometimes hang out with.

Those numbers do seem kinda low. With my current mods, Im at 292hp / 317tq.

jjtgiants 04-07-2006 11:00 AM

Yeah, I still say those numbers are pretty low, but then again it depends what kind of dyno it was on (dyno jet vs mustang dyno) the information entered, air...ect....so you never know, but it seems that 5 speed Mach's are usually in the 270rwhp range stock.....but every dyno is different and every car is different so some dyno high...some dyno low.

I was thinking about the original question and I think starting with the simple mods first will really help that car....Short throw shifter, exhaust, mid pipe, CAI and Tune will for sure help big time. My car is putting out 304rwhp & 330rwtq with just those simple mods and a good tune, which is plenty of HP to put you well into the 12's with sticky tires. Just remember the tune is key because the A/F gets way out of wack when adding any combo that brings more air to the engine.

The first thing I did was get rid of the clunky azz shifter and put in an aftermarket one and it's so much better to drive! Good luck dude!

That's the first thing that I'm doing also. I've got a steeda triax going in tomorrow. Then all the suspension stuff that I bought for the GT will go on the Mach (tubular k-member, a-arms, coilovers (front and rear), and upper and lower control arms. After this weekend, this things going to handle like it's on rails:devil2:
