Default I am such a dope....oil leak found and I am to blame.

I have been wrestling with an annoying oil leak for months. Now, I have not driven the car much, but each time I pull it out, I have been greated with a pool of oil. The car has also been smelling....of burnt oil.

Tail pipe and exhaust are clear and th eodor has been from under the hood.

Today, I was working on the car....changed my fluids etc.... While working, I fnoticed some pooled oil on one of my COP's. Further investigation revealed a drip in one of my vacum lines....the one that goes from the top of the driver's side crankcase to the intake right before the TB. I pulled it apart and found it full of oil....I mean there was a ton! My thought was that my rings were toast and I had been blowing up oil from the crank case.

I then noticed that the oil check valve on the pasenger side crankcase was pulled out and laying on it's side. Apparently, the last time I put the intake line back on, I knocked it off and never noticed. As a result, I had basically been driving around with a vacum leak and the oil was pulling in the other line as there was not enough vacum to pull the blow-off through.

I re-attached everything and the oil cleared itself out like it was never there.

BTW, Royal Purple is really nice. The hum from my rear went away and the shifter is much smoother.
