Banging noise in back/trunk area...
Since I put in the catback, anytime my back suspesnion hit a bump or drop or rise, there is some kind of bang noise. It's not super loud, and I don't know if anyone else can hear it. It could be something loose, or something out of place. Well I took the spare tire out and looked for anything loose and i put it back and the noise is still there. When I was putting the catback in, I did run into a problem and ended up disconnecting my right rear arm(which is the area I hear the general sound from) but I screwed it back in exactly how it was before.
Can anybody just throw some ideas out there for me to check and see if it'll fix the problem???? |

It could be your your control arm hitting your exhaust pipe.

it's probably the exhaust. When i had my magnaflow it used to hit the frame right over the axel. Try to loosen the bolts and then move the pipes over some.

Yah, the problem will probably take care of itself as it suffocates, but you could always opt for a bullet in the head, but strangulation is far far cleaner.

Check all your pipes and make sure they are not rubbing anything.You should be able too tell from some marks on the pipes.You just need too adjust it.

probably your exhaust hitting somewhere.

Its the Borlas put back on the SLPs and all your noises will go away,check around the control arms and gas tank. You must not jack up the car on the frame rails as you will not be able to see where its rubbing try to get blocks under the wheels or that ramp that they sell everywhere. You basically need to jack up the car but with the suspension at rest.

I've heard that raising it with the differential is bad bad bad. Why is it bad and what could/would it hurt?

My Mac Catback was hitting me Axel making a sound when i pulled off. You should also look underneath, there will be signs or rubbing on your exhaust.

OK, lemme rephrase, it's not actually jacking the differential, it's the metal thing in front of the diff.

I've heard that too, but thats the only way to go about doing it. I've done it plenty of times and haven't had any problems..:) |

i have to since my car is so low... i never heard of it being bad for the dif... mine also lowered too, but you must have some crazy lowering springs. But I know in the owners manual, it says "do NOT lift using the differential". haha oh well. |

i never had a problem... everyone i know uses the dif... they never had a problem... idk what to tell ya bout the manual... |
Just an update: I fixed the problem today. When installing the exhaust, I had loosened a screw on the right rear arm and never tightened it back. But once I tightened it a good amount, no more bump. Just for future reference for anyone else.
