Every wheel they ship me is damaged. Ive gone through 6 of them now.
I only ordered two.
UPS has accepted liability each time.
We have even tried alternate addresses. They still come damaged.
The 6th wheel they sent arrived and the box was in pristine condition.
Finally!!! I opened it up to discover curb rash, a dent and scoring on the paint
where lugs were obviously used on it.

When I call them they are nice but they will not use anything other than UPS.
They FINALLY boxed it up better and that worked except they sent me a FREEEKING used and damaged wheel!

I really dont know what happened.....The last guy I talked to gave me an RMA number. They didnt give me an emailed UPS shipping label to return it....so Im guessing they want me to pay for it.

I just cant believe I am having such a hard time with this.
I kept one of the damaged wheels cause the damage is on the back side and wont be seen but Im paying for new wheels!!

I dont want to flame them or anything like that. I have the names of the guys Ive been dealing with over there its just I need a rep or someone who can help troubleshoot what happened and ship me a NEW wheel in a good box- wrapped well cause UPS likes to throw my wheels.

Lampoon and I discussed the situation, and what it really boiled down to was he was having some major issues with his local UPS depot not being competent enough to deliver a wheel undamaged to his area.

After some communique, we actually figured out that the latest wheel that came in a perfect box but was damaged and looked "used" was not even in our packaging. UPS damaged our original shipping container and the wheel so bad that they had to re-box it. The funny thing is, our shipping containers are tested and approved by UPS for shipping wheels...they should not be getting damaged like this! Obviously there is some serious mishandling going on en-route after the packages left our warehouse.

We ended up shipping Lampoon another wheel last week that was personally inspected and packaged by our Assistant Warehouse Manager and myself. In addition to our regular UPS approved shipping container, we wrapped the wheel several times over with large bubble wrap, added extra packing material, and double boxed the final container for extra strength. If UPS damages this one, I don't even know what to say!!!

On the inside non-visible lip, or inside where the tire mounts its common to have some slight blemishes from where the machines hold and handle the wheels while the outside visible face of the wheel is finished. You will find that on all wheels, including your factory ones.

If you ever get a wheel with a blemish on the outside visible face of the wheels, that would be a defect, and you simply need to give us a call to receive a replacement.

Thanks soooooo much Nick for helping me with this. Should know today if it worked.
One of the biggest tragedies out of this (besides my opinion of UPS now) is that my wife wants nothing to do with forums anymore since that other site flamed her about asking for help. Well....I hope she asked for help. She can be quite...whats the word...boistrous? Vocal?

Your welcome. Don't worry about your wife's post on the other forum, I can understand her frustration...just reading through the whole situation made ME feel frustrated! Hopefully she will realize that the forums can be a useful tool when you put things into perspective and contact the right people like me. That's why I am here!

Also in all fairness to UPS, we do ship thousands of packages a week perfectly without problems. This is probably an isolated problem at your local depot or routing station with one or a small handful of their employees not following company standards. If enough companies and customers file damage claim reports like we did, I am sure UPS will nip it in the bud. It is unfortunate that this whole situation left you with such a bad experience with UPS, which is in general a very good and reliable shipping company.

i know this is an old post, but i cant help to think about what my co-worker says about ups, he wrks there prt time, 20hrs a week. he says there is s&it laying everywhere on the ground from the machines they use, to sort out size of boxes, not to mention how Fu*kING rough they handle boxes.

About how they handle stuff and their common sense, a driver walks in with a three and a half foot long box clearly marked "Moser Custom Alloy Axles". He's holding it at stomach level and simply lets it go, dropping it on a concrete floor. Then he remarks about how heavy the box is and asks if it's a crankshaft for one of the Mustangs around the shop. My boss told him if it were a crankshaft, it would be for a V12 and it would also be broken in half. The worst part is, the idiot asked why.
