Default New section request

I think we need a new section thats specifically for GTG's. I have been an active member since June and have only seen/heard of 2 GTG, one of which is held in January that i am going to. We need to have a "turn out" sorda say. More GTG's to bring us closer and to throw out a shoulder to lean on. Like i know "Jack" is going through a tough time, so schedule a GTG in the area, hell maybe near/at their house. Cook up some burgers, go for a short cruise, maybe hit a strip to bring a little extra joy around. That goes for anybody though. Everyone, i think, needs to pull together when a fellow stanger is down and out and pick up their spirits. Get a GTG section started and put Jack on the top of the list...just an idea.

Hopefully they make a section for us. Then people within like a 150 mile radius can all get together at a central point. I wish there were more people out in my area(southern CA). Maybe if they throw up a GTG section more people will see it and voice where they are located and more gtg's can get up and going.

what if they create a area section like most forums do, I belong to another forum and it has sections for Northeast, Southeast, and so fourth... ( Example - http://www.badmustangsclub.com/forum...splay.php?f=43 )

Just a thought, and then those in those areas will be able to post in the locations near them for GTG, shows, and so fourth that has to do with there locations...

I kinda like that idea. Do like a east, west, south, midwest that way there won't be tons of sub forums.

Well i guess it isnt going to fly, but i thought it would be a good idea to have our own GTG page. We'll see what happens.

where are the moderators on this? how would a new section work? Does someone have to volunteer to be the moderator of that "section"? If so i would definitely volunteer for that and try to pull everything together. I would be in that 100% when i get back from iraq, i only have a few weeks left out here til im home. Could someone hook me up with some info on that!?

Well the forum GODS whoever they are would just need to add the section and the various ones under that and can submit moderators at any given time.

its not a real hard task!

It is pretty easy to do actually. I am not a big fan of having forums for the sake of forums, because it makes the site too complex. I will do this as a test, but if they sit idle, I will delete them.

now you will have to keep in mind that its gonna be getting cooler in lots of parts around the Southeast, so not alot of events will be taking place so there might not be alot of activity.

I've got a GTG coming up for California/West Coast guys in January. I think it's a great idea. My GTG thread has seen plenty of replies.

Guys just make sure you try to make these meets work. It takes effort to organize big ones. More meets = tighter knit group and a better forum to hang out in.
