Default Supercharging

I have a supercharger from a T-Bird and a friend of mine has machine shop who can make an intake for me. Is it absolutely necessary to reprogram the ECU even if you're only going to run 3-7 psi of boost? Granted I don't want to toast my engine but my budget is quite low right now.

Thanks!

In a word..."yes". If you install this blower w/o making any tuning adjustments, it will run like crap and be extremely lean. The motor will be a goner before you can say "shit".

Some guys will run a car like this with the fuel turned way up, keep the foot off the gas so they don't run any boost, just so they can get the car to the tuner.

I understand that money is tight, but if it is that tight, you really should not be messing with the car until you can get it all correct. Otherwise, you will be buying a new motor and they cost a lot more then a tune.
