My car has been turning off on me a lot lately. I checked the inside of the throttle body and it looks super black in there so that might be it.Also i have heard that it could be a dirty MAF.How do i clean both of these? I bought a superchips flashpaq programmer a month ago and as soon as i plugged it in the check engine light came on and it said my idle was lower than expected.I returned it to stock and the light stayed on and the rpms on the car were under 500,so do any of you think this programmer messed up my car or do you think it was a coincidence that the check engine light came on when i plugged it up for the first time? Please Help

Just a few questions that I am SURE most of you can answer for me about cams.

What do the numbers mean for duration, lift, etc. and what do they equate to?
I saw two comp comps and one had a rpm range of 1600-5600 or so and the other had 2000-6000. What does the range mean? Does it mean the range of it's usability? It moves the powerband? So the second cam won't really let the car "take off" until 2000rpm as opposed to the first's 1600?

And the numbers, why would you want a cam with a longer duration or a higher lift and whatnot? What differences do they have?

I understand that cams allow the engine to breath better but am not positive on all the numbers. I know I can search google but I think by posting on here I can get more detailed explanations for our cars specifically.

Thanks for your answers guys, I know I can come here without get flak.
