2v 100shot numbers with high compession

What a time at the dyno today...i went to finish up a tune that was started last week in my 2001 mustang gt with high compressin 5.0 stroker kit. We finally got the tune down...tune ended up at 276rwhp and 330rwtq on engine. Then for the juice...The guy did first pull and it looked like it was going to come off the dyno. It was rediculus. It was 447rwhp and 605tq. At first he didnt believe that i had 100 jets in it so we pulled them and they were correct. Then we called nitrous expess to double check and they confirmed 100shot. When he got it dialed in a little rich and in a safe zone after adding some fuel he got out 475.27rwhp and 629.82rwtq. This was one a 2v with stock valves and stock cams. He said they never seen anything like it a was like a little kid running around. Juice+High Compression=Torque Monster. Now he said i need to change my axles.. Cant wait for the warm weather and today made my whole project worth it 100%.

Holy shit. Impressive!!

stanger00 01-29-2010 03:45 PM

what kind of fuel system are you running?

Graderbird2004 01-29-2010 04:02 PM

I have in tank 255lbp and 24lb injectors. It is the wet kit, plate system and they had to use bigger fuel jet the stock and bump up fuel through the tuner. He said that he set mine up so safe that it was crazy to come close to those numbers. With bottle pressure up and leaning it out he said another 20-40 but i want to not blow it up first time i use it, so i will keep it rich.

SnTBakosFinest 01-29-2010 06:18 PM

Something sounds very wrong there. 100 shot = 100 horsepower, give or take about 15. I have never seen or heard of torque shooting up an extra 300 lbs..

graphs please.

08mustang_gt 01-29-2010 06:52 PM

I'd believe it....nitrous does some weird stuff on strokers.

spike_africa 01-29-2010 08:22 PM

The hp seem very very wrong.

Cool shit regardless, where is the graph at?

This is my graph from today...sorry i should have put it up earlier but got busy...i was talking again today to a guy from comp cams and told him my mods and the power and he flat out said i was full of it. I called the tuner and he called the guy and verified it and a little while after the comp cams tech called me personally and apolgized...so comp cams keeps some repect from me

It does. It did on mine as well, I just never got an accurate dyno to prove it.

VERY impressive. With power like that.. around here it's atleast a high 10 second car.

What all is done to it? Motor, suspension, ect. Everything..I'd love to know :)

08mustang_gt 01-29-2010 09:57 PM

I'm really debating on getting a 75/100-shot to put on my car....

I'm just still weary of fucking the car up and losing my DD. I wouldn't abuse it I know, just use it for some fun street runs but I'm so afraid of killing the car.

And I know my dad would flip shit more than likely because he's the same 'Nitrous only blows shit up" type of guy.

Graderbird2004 01-29-2010 10:15 PM

I know what u mean...to be honest i am going to be leary of it untill i learn to trust spray...as long as the bottom end is solid and you dont overdue it and keep it on a safe tune, eveything should be fine. I am by no means a (good) driver, so this year is going to be getting everything down and learning what it can take. I would love to get into 11's.

Mods are, High compression 5.0 stroker kit: close to 12:1 compression, manley rods, cp pistons and kellog forged crank. Stock cams and stock heads, Nx express 2v plate kit running 100shot. I have 24lb injectors and 255lph fuel pump intank. Other then that i just have pullies, CIA, and intake spacer and small things like that.
Suspension, steeda lowering kit, steeda springs, subframe connectors and thats end. Going to order moser 31 spine axles and ford racing diff.

r3dn3ck 01-30-2010 09:29 AM

100 shot = 100hp and a HELL OF A LOT more than that in tq. Figure on 50% above the rated shot size in tq gains, not to mention that his stroker is super high compression and nitrous responds REALLY well to that.

Great numbers dude.

Graderbird2004 01-30-2010 08:20 PM

Thanks, im really happy with the numbers. I was wondering if just going to 31 spline axles and diff is gong to hold the power. Also cobras came stock with the 31 spline set up so i was thinking about getting a setup from a cobra. Lastly, i was wondering if anyone know wha the stock driveshaft will hold and if i have to get an upgraded one.. Any more suggestions on what weak links are in my car now that i need to be looking at.

redfire04 01-31-2010 09:06 AM

awesome numbers!

I don't know much about nitrous or nitrous tunes but I can't believe you're getting enough fuel with the 255 and 24lb injectors.

Graderbird2004 01-31-2010 09:15 AM

It is a wet kit. The plate dumps fuel as well as nitrous and then through the tune, he can add or take away fuel as needed. I think a dry set up is where keeping fuel becomes more difficult

You can run a 75/100 shot all day with your stock fuel system on a bolt on car. Just get a tune for it cause its a 3v and your good to go. Honestly with a little bit of reading to understand how it works and how to use it and the general rules of thumb that go with nitrous and its pretty safe. I have been using it for years. I mean years and I have gone through many many bottles on a stock bottom end from Ford.

Read up on it and I bet you might change your mind. :)

JayC 01-31-2010 01:24 PM

Can you show us the A/F from that pull? It looks like a huge lean spike is the cause of the inflated #'s. Notice how the HP/TQ drops dramatically after the fuel system catches up.

Graderbird2004 01-31-2010 01:45 PM

I dont have the air/fuel graph. I can prolly get it sent to me though. The first pull with nitrous was super lean so thats why we changed up the fuel jet to a bigger size and he added some fuel through the tuner. The lean reading was 560tq and he shut it down as soon as he seen that. This was also using a window switch that is set for 3500 to come on and 5500 to shut off, keeping in mind that i dont have power after those rpms anyways due to stock heads and cams. The air fuel graph was running close to a point rich and i think he kept it close to that.

NewMustangMan 02-01-2010 04:01 PM

sick man!

Mine dropped like that as well on it's first pull when I pegged the Lightning MAF meter.

Graderbird2004 02-02-2010 10:14 AM

i know what u mean wih the maf meter...They were keeping an eye on that and it was getting close.. He said max for mine was 4.79 and i was in the 4.6s on mine. I made it through, although i think i am going to order the bbk one as soon as i get suspension and axles. I would like to try the 125 and maybe 150 sometime when i get the rest of it set up.

SnTBakosFinest 02-02-2010 11:18 AM

Are you on a auto or a manual? Sorry if you've already told us..

If you're an auto, that may be another reason for the strange drop on the dyno..

Graderbird2004 02-02-2010 01:22 PM

This is a manual car. Here is the graph on just the motor and notice how they drop in about the same. Since i have stock cams and heads i cannot take advantage of all the power through all of the powerbands. I want to look into a good set of cams so my power does not drop off and i should get it tuned and mess with the window switch more. Does anyone know what is safe to activate and deativate the nitrous at. Now i am at 3500 come on and 5500 turn off.https://mustangboards.com/attachment...1&d=1264200678

Graderbird2004 02-02-2010 01:39 PM

sorry...that graph is huge..i willl try and work on getting it better

spike_africa 02-02-2010 02:48 PM

You can change it to 3,000 on and go as high at 6,000 off. Mine right now is set at 2,900 on and 6,000 off. My limiter is 6,500 so it has plenty of room before the limiter hits.

Graderbird2004 02-02-2010 05:28 PM

spike...are those pretty safe settings?...i want it to be as safe as possible and dont want to increase chance of a backfire..my car was down all of last yr so i am really hoping to make this a good one.:)

spike_africa 02-02-2010 05:57 PM

3k on is pretty safe. I don't know what your limiter is, but the general rule of thumb is to have 400-800rpms before the limiter on cars that cut fuel like ours do for the limiter. I'm sure your not power shifting on the bottle so 3k on and 6k off should be no problem for you.

Graderbird2004 02-03-2010 10:24 PM

I know i deff need cams. I was wondering what kind of numbers i can expect. I bought the MT 315s and am doing axles, detroit locker and upper and lower control arms. It should hook good. Sfinest said high 10s. That would be great, but is that realistic for me a good but not professional driver.

I said with that power. Lol. And actually, a good driver would probably get you atleast high 10s. Your first times out, depending on everything though, maybe low 11s?

And that power spike wasn't what I was talking about, lol. Like mid graph mine would go lean for a mili second and then spike back up.

Everything depends on if you can deliver that power to the ground successfully and how well you drive the car..that'll decide how fast you will go.
