Wanted to share my dyno results. Made 289 hp and 308 tq. Here is a list of what I have done.
Motor from a 2004 explorer (4.6) VT stage 2 cams Crower springs Diamond pistons 11cc dish Manley rods High volume oil pump BBK headers and o/r h-pipe Steeda under drive pulleys BBK 75 mm TB and plenum JLT RAI |
not bad at all, just a lil bit more and u'll hit the good ole 300 HP mark! nice torque.

I would like to get over the 300 mark but i'm not sure how. Just need some sort of mod to give 10 more ponys

Put a shit load of stickers on it..thats what the ricers do. They gotta be worth 1/4 rwhp each so about 50 will do job...LOL. On the more serious side, do you have long tube headers or shorties. If you have shorties, get LT's, that could be all you need right there. And stage two heads for sure will get you over 300, but then you have all the work and cost to go with a head swap.
|
I already have LT's. Wasn't about to waste time with shorties. I do plan on getting a stage 2 porting done on the heads but that wont be for a while. I've been woundering if the 75mm TB is to big and causing me to lose HP?
|
I've heard 75mm is a little too big unless you have a power adder. But I'm not sure if its going to be a 10 hp difference. There is only one real way to find out, tell someone to get it for you for X-mas. Just get a cheaper one, like a MAC, those are just over $100. Other than that, looks like you're stuck for now.
