one is known to read a tad higher than the other in many cases even on the same type of load cell chassis dyno.. All else being equal they each give accurate numbers. Whatever you do, just make sure that you read the SAE numbers and not the raw numbers. The SAE numbers take into account and normalize all the weather related variables and give you a true idea of what's being put down.

Just remember... dyno racing is t3h lamezor. Use the dyno to make sure that what you do nets the results it should and that it's a safe state of tune for the car. After that, the only thing that's a real measure of performance is track times. You can make all the power in the world but if you can't plant it you can't use it.

dyno racers like to seek out one over the other. The difference is largely relegated to individual dyno differences (much like every engine being different, every dyno is it's own instrument) and has almost nothing to do with the readings you get from them.

I've used both mustang dyno's and dynojet units and the numbers are always within spitting distance. The shocker was getting 10% differences on the same car and same dyno from one day to the next.

thats the answer i was lookin for!! see i was on the understanding that one of them read a way higher number than the other because of some reason that i never understood. i diddnt realize that they will both basically give you the same number.

The only number that matters from the dyno is the a/f ratio. The Hp numbers are nice and all but it doesnt matter. Track times are what counts.
