the highest of that set was 281/333 but yeah... about 280.

with shorty headers that's about all you can expect. You might be able to squeak more top end from stage 3 heads and a stage 3 cam but not with street oriented parts unless you put longtubes on it. Without the added scavenging from the headers the cylinders don't fill as well as they could. Adapter plates also cost me a nice slice of power and I had a really really soft tune on it since it was the very first run after break-in and I didn't think the fuel system would keep up (it didn't). If I'd had the tune at full wick it would have easily slapped down 295-300.

With the longtubes and a fresh tune I'm expecting somewhere around 330/350 to the tires.

that's a fact. Since hp is a representation of tq (much like a description is a representation of a photo) it doesn't tell the whole story to pay any attention to hp #'s. Maximizing average tq production throughout the rev range is the idea.

How musch more does the 5.4 weigh than the 4.6? What RPM's are you making your max power/torque?

around 100lbs all in.

max power depends on the build. I made peak hp at 5500 and peak tq at 4000.

Updated dyno numbers and combo description for mine.

from the fuel lines I'm sure there is some more in it. But your dyno graph looks like a 4.6 with 9-10psi of boost.

Yeah the fuel trims are hard to nail down in the car. Bank 1 runs a little leaner then 2 so I'm in the process of trying to find out why. Also, it gets very lean when the load is high and when you get up near 4000 rpm the thing takes off. As far as looking like a 4.6 graph, your right. It feels just like when I had a vortech with the old engine.

awesome power man. Great job!

Make sure and send a copy of your dyno graph to bob at HPS. He'd appreciate the hell out of it.

I told you guys the TF heads were going to make 400rwhp cars. He's at 380 to the tires and I don't think he even has longtubes.

Are you running the box stock TF heads or have they had work to them?

I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to share your graph and results on another forum. Can't wait to see what you make with the tune done and then long tubes! excellent combo!

gt4ftw: well, it's getting kinda lean at the top end. I don't know if that's fuel pump or maf xfer. Hoping there's a 90mm maf on that cuz at 400hp you're just at where it starts to hit the top of its range. I'll bet there's another 5-8hp in it. Maybe a bit more. See if you can find out the cam timing. You might pick up a little top end and stretch out the power band by retarding the cam a couple degrees.

Its running a 90mm maf and it just doesnt want to move until 4000 rpms...i think tuning issue but i need to get with the original owner to try and figure more out..input is greatly appreciate it i have a turbo setup i want to throw on it but i dont know if the build can handle it or not im not a guy that is very big on spray either
