Just got back from SGS Performance (formerly known as Kaufmann's). Here the dyno. Tell me what you all think. And I just want to say thanks for everyones help here on the board to get this far. I had little to no automotive modding knowledge or experience at all and have installed everything on my car myself with the advice and info from you all. Thanks again!
Here's 2 dyno runs. I ran my fuel pump to max service. My tuner says I can safely tune to 440 if I upgrade to the Cobra double pumper. I settled for a safe 402.95RWHP 413.43RWTQ. Hmmmm. wont upload the new ones.

so i would imagine you would put down about 380ish on a mustang dyno? Good numbers. I dyno'd 380rwhp and 383rwt with my D1SC@8psi. How many pounds are you running?

I'm not sure about the Mustang Dyno Thing or what the difference is. I am running just under 13#'s at max. My tuner recommended the higher boost with the D1SC as this is when it starts to get efficient. He said he could've tuned it to 430RWHP easily but around 400 was safer. He also told me that if I make the Cobra dual pump switch he can safely tune me to 440RWHP on the stock block. He said my fuel pump was at it max duty cycle safely at 420 on the dyno and more like 400-405 on the street.
I would really like to hear what all the tuners on here have to say about 440RWHP on a stock block.

400-450rwhp is max for a safe hp level on stock internals. depending on tuning.

I put the dyno charts up for you.
I dont think a few extra ponies is worth it. Save up for the block. |

Great numbers. Do you have a pic of your car? I am in the Harrisburg area, I want to make sure I don't race you any time soon. You would kill me. I have a supercharged V6. I need
to come anywhere close to those numbers. |

Thanks Venom. Kjbuck I am in the Williamsport area of PA. Prob wont see me near Harrisburg unless Im on the way to SGS for another dyno tune.
So after doing a little research I see that Mustang dynos apply a more "street real" load to the car and produce roughly 10% less HP than a dynojet. SO my question in view of this is for getting the most out of my car. Is the 400-450HP on a Dynojet or a Mustang Dyno? Thanks. I think I still will be going for the Cobra duel pumps since I will need this for a future built motor anyway correct ?

yeah you need more fuel for more power levels, but you could just toss a BAP (boost a pump) which ups the voltage and gives you more flow. But i dont knwo how high in the HP game you wanna go.

My tuner said he easily coulda gotten my current setup to 430 and still be somewhat safe. I opted for the more safe route of 402.

13lbs on a stock bottom end... buy a new shortblock. You'll need it sooner or later. I wouldn't advise more than 10psi... I've seen too many cars pop stock motors. Just can't trust the gas.
EDIT: The flat spot at the end of the HP curve may be something to look at. I'd need all kinds of other charts to figure it out though. The D1 is big enough that the thing should rise all the way to redline... maybe the stock cams are holding it back. |

Thanks for the advise Redneck, I was wondering about the boost levels myself. I think I'll just change the pully to a 3.6 and that should take the boost down to 10-11 lbs. It sucks cause I just bought this brand new 3.4 Richard racing one for $160.00.
Will I need an immediate tune if I choose to swap to a lower boost pully? My tuner is 2 hrs away. And for stanger I am using a MAFia. Thanks fellas.

Here's what my tuner told me when I asked about how safe 13lbs is.
I dont have any issues with 13psi with an intercooler particularly when extra timing is pulled in the upper rpms to keep it safe. The smaller pulley brings the boost in quicker and makes the midrange stronger. Dont get hung up on a boost number it honestly means little. The final horsepower and how aggressive the tune is and how hard the car is driven is more of what determines how long a motor will last. You have a safe tune that with last for you. I am not contesting what anyone is saying on the board here. I really just want whats best for my car. It is not a daily driver. I put on under 5,000 miles last year. It's in the garage all winter. Thoughts ?

my concern is the available power exceeds the available strength. no matter how little I drive my car (currently 50 miles a week) I'm always as hard on it as I would be any other time. I consider myself to be about your average enthusiast, so I wouldn't run that much boost on any tune because I would smoke the motor... no doubt in my mind. I'm mean spirited towards cars.
There's no sense in ripping out gobs of timing so you can run 2-3lbs more boost. Drop the boost to 10lbs at the manifold peak and put some timing back in it and it'll be just as fun and probably last longer. He's totally right about all the facts.. it's the realities that I'm concerned with. |

Yep stock heads and cams. I dont think I can go there at this point. Already close to the horsepower limit. I might install a 03-04 cobra tank and pumps to take it to 440 rwhp. It sucks not being able to do any more engine modding. Unless I go to a forged shortblock which is a remote possibilty.
