Talking New best time with the mach

Ran a 13.18 @ 106.57 mph. That was my third run, then I got kicked off the track because I didnt have a helmet. My first run kinda sucked though. Had a reaction time of .54, spun through first and got a 2.3 60ft with a 13.8 et @ 107. Yeah I know, got to let off the gas alittle or slip the clutch. That's why I did better on the next two runs.

Yeah its anything below a 13.99. What's funny is last time I went, they didnt give a ****. So I'm guessing it depends on the day.

Wow, that is a dam good time for a nearly stock Mach 1. You still have stock gears too.

Man, you got 12's in there easy.

My 60ft times suck, keep on spinning coming out of the hole. I just need some nice tires and I'll be in the 12's.

your on your way man, just get some nittos and slip it out of the hole around 3,500rpms seems to work well with most stangs.

for a daily driver nittos rul hands down, no other drag radail can last that long while giving good traction, i will deffinatly agree BFG's and MT's hook alot better but they both only last 5k at the most.

No need for more power, just get some sticky tires and youll be there. Get some draglites, or v6 rims and slap some slicks, et streets, or MT ET drags on there.

i would sure like to know how you are doing this. i took my 04 mach 1 to the track for the first time last weekend and i must really suck. i have 4.10 gears, weld in flowmasters, k&n cold air kit, dibalo programmer and short throw shifter and all i ran was 13.8 at 100mph on street tires. i thought that really sucks, very dissapointed. i was expection low 13s or maybe ever high 12s. whats up with that? i know i am no expert driver but i thought i was average or above. do you have any tips to get my car where it should?

As Swervo said 13.99 or faster requires helmets. Event around here...if you get anywhere around low 14s they ask you to either back out of it or put on a helmet.

NHRA rules...helmet 13.99 or faster

aftermarket power adder you need a flame resistant jacket...to run slicks you have to have a drive shaft safety loop. to run Weld pro stars or lites requires flush studs or longer through shanked lug nuts.

then after all that if you go 11.49 or faster you need a 6 point roll bar...and it has to be certified I.E no paint on welds.

I just found this all out myself...since my car is getting a little bit faster each time I go to the track.

I was dang swervo posted...dudes been MIA for a long while now. I wonder if his car ever got the teksid installed...

I think most of this only applies on if you want to run in an event. For an event they will be more strict than for a fun racing or open racing event. Helmet is definitely needed for 13.99 or quicker. Around here no one requires you to have a flame resistant jacket if you have a power adder, a driveshaft safety look if you want to run slicks, or 3" studs with open ended lug nuts if you want to run Welds. I don't think they really pay attention to all this stuff unless your car is deep in the 10's. My buddies T/A runs 10.80's on spray. Slicks, driveshaft safety loop, helmet, closed lug nuts with skinnies up front, no cage, and no fire proof jacket. No one has said anything to him. Alot of other guys run like this too. I've seen one old school Camaro get kicked off the track because he ran quicker than 9.99 with no cage in the car on a fun racing day.

tires help alot. get some drag radials. maybe get ur tune checked aswell. no way it should be trappin less than 103 for the mods u have. are you powershifting or granny shifting? it all depends on how u can row the gears aswell man.
