new times for the V6

Hit the track on Saturday.

60' - 2.10
1/8 - 9.11
1.4 - 14.03
miles per hour - 101

It was my best time and speed, but I was hoping for a faster time. I guess I need to start looking at my suspension settup.

Added two videos from the day of races. It was the first time we used my new HD Video Recorder. I am not sure what the times were for these two runs, the track didn't post any times.

jon2325 03-29-2009 03:42 PM

spike_africa 03-29-2009 03:52 PM

With a 2.1 60' he is on street tires for sure.

def. get some sticky tires!!! also, subframe connectors will really help you hook off that line!!!

if u did that, i bet u could improve by a half second.

kjbuck2 03-30-2009 05:37 AM

I have Nitto's 555R 275/40/17 on the rear and last week I installed the subframe connectors. So that is why I was a bit dissapointed with the times. It seems like it is bogging down at the line. I was launching around 3k RPMs, I might try and try 4k or 4.5k next trip. I had three 60' times of 2.0, and a bunch of 2.1.

3.8LMustang 03-30-2009 08:00 AM

MAC Long tubes Headers, Flowmaster exhaust, Eibach Pro Kit Springs, Vortech S-trim Supercharger with 3.33 Blower Pulley, Chrome Moly K-member kit, MM Caster/Camber Plates and Subframe connectors, Custom 4 inch power pipe, 90MM lightning mass air meter, SVT focus fuel pump, SPEC stage 2 clutch and Flywheel, Traction-Lok, 3.73 gears, Nitto NT555 255/50/17 for the front and Nitto NT555R 275/40/17 in the rear.

All the other mods are visual.

I am planning on hitting Cecil County Dragway some time in April. I have been told that place is much nicer then Beaver Springs. They didnt have the score board on, so I could not see what other people were getting.

PColav6 03-30-2009 08:51 AM

hmmmmm.

3.8LMustang 03-30-2009 08:56 AM

nice setup man

Stephen4036 03-30-2009 11:47 AM

very nice, but i wouldnt have left the track that night unless i hit 13.99 lol...

and yea man your 60 foot is bad, mines 2.02 for my best, with your power you should be able to hit 2.00 even without DR's but you still need them instead.

spike_africa 03-30-2009 05:20 PM

what psi are you running them at and what wheel size?

SnTBakosFinest 03-30-2009 06:17 PM

prolly knocking those radials loose some..

18 PSI was the tire pressure not boost.

3.8LMustang 03-31-2009 06:43 AM

so how much boost then?

if i have to guess it would be 11psi....

spike_africa 03-31-2009 08:19 AM

But what wheel size not tire.

most of the time I saw the boots hitting around 11 to 12.

3.8LMustang 03-31-2009 08:44 AM

koo and you should get 17x10.5 rear with drag radials and for sure you will grip the track and for sure make it into the 13's

damn only 4 hundredths away from getting 13.99

my 4 cylinder runs 13s with 19psi.lol

SnTBakosFinest 03-31-2009 02:19 PM

Could invest into a set of slicks and skinnies..think you may be able to pick up a package for less then 1 thousand..if the radials break loose for me then thats what i'll be lookin at..

Thanks for the ideas. I will first need to change the rearend to a 8.8. I have heard alot of people saying 7.5 rearend and slicks is a no/no. I want to be able to drive home without blowning out the back end.

3.8LMustang 03-31-2009 02:45 PM

thats if you stomp on it on the streets and the track. its always good to switch to 8.8 if ur going turbo or supercharged

SnTBakosFinest 03-31-2009 03:23 PM

its always good to swap to an 8.8 if you're sitting over 250RWHP lol. Just a ticking time bomb

spike_africa 03-31-2009 08:21 PM

That is to low of a psi for those. I usually run 17psi rang and I have them on small 8" wheels . crank them up to 22psi and try that. I am willing to bet you are cupping the tire with that low of a psi in them.
