Question 1/4 mile

so i got this guy that wants to run me in the 1/4 mile. he's got a 2008 mazda speed 3 (bone stock). its a 5speed manual and he is new at drivin stick but it comes stock turbo charged. i have a manual 2000 mustang gt , flowmaster exhaust and, roush CAI. what do u think my chances are at beatin him????

It would probably be decently close. They come stock with 263 HP and run the quarter in 14.2-14.4ish. If he is new at driving a stick, you'll most likely take him, granted YOU can drive a stick well.

I didn't put too much energy into it, but I tried to see how much the mazda weighs, no luck. Unless the mazda has a weight advantage you should be able to beat him.

yea ive been stick as a daily driver for a couple years now. but the mazda is rated only like 80 pounds lighter than my gt.

take it from me........if there new at manual......ull smoke the hell outa them
put him in a ferarri and then it will b a good race :P

very true. if its a stick it all depends on the driver.

He is about 100lbs lighter, HP is about the same, You've got 20 ft/lbs of torque on him. It'll be a driver race. Get some gears.
