traction control sucks! i had mine turned off for good, it never helped me in normal driving conditions either

I undertand traction control stops you from spinning, I mean with my stock tires I could go through 1st, 2nd and most of third lighting them up and with traction control that dont happen.

My question is with a good hook up in both senarios will your time be any different?

if you shift perfectly , you wont spin your tires, or even chirp them. The problem is, it's hard as hell(without good tires) to not chirp when youre jamming into 2nd gear as quick as you need. Plus, I can imagine anyone not spinning tires a lil on launch, unless theyre dr's or slicks. And dont even think of dropping uner 2k or you'll big the car, resulting in zero wheelspin, which will result in your worst possible time.

ya, well those tires in the pic are the cheapy Sumitomo's, I figure at $110 each for the 315's in the back so what if they arent the best time but I can tell you one thing, they grip like mad. I took an onramp to interstate the other day at about 95, and when I dump it they grab nicely.....Im very happy with them.

nope even with slicks they will chirp into gear, if you are doing it right, aka powershifting.

Even not powershifting you can "chirp" slicks. It is also quite possible to spin slicks on launch, 2nd or even 3rd. Tire tech at the track is one of the hardest to figure out. It is not just compound and tire pressure but suspension set-up, launch RPM and driving style as well.
