Setup: Driving from local Startbucks to local Wendy's on I-84 last night.
Myself in my 03 GT w/ magnaflow aft-cat, stang00 in his 07 civic Si. We pull up to a mustang and I see that it is a black Mach 1 with an exhaust and wide tires. We were in traffic for a bit, but we made our way through traffic. Now, I normally NEVER race my car, I go to the local starbucks to watch other people race, not to race them myself. But we get out of traffic and he floors it, and I follow suit. The following result was amazing, I started to pull on him. This continued for another 15-20 seconds as we racked up the speeds, two seperate times I thought he let off the throttle and let of myself, only to have him pull a few more feet on me, so I got back on it and got door to door with him, then we had to shut down because speed and upcoming traffic. This guy was devistated, he followed me off onto my exit, where stang00 pulled up next to him, he asked if my car was just a GT and stang00 said yes, and stang00 told him to follow us to wendy's, he complied and when we got there, he got out and said "I need to talk to you man". He was a 30 something black guy, and he was so humbled by the experience that he had chris (stang00) and I tell him what he should do to help his car, after asking what I had done to mine. First he says "I just have the mufflers" Then as we ask him more questions he tells us that he has alot more, MAC headers-SLP high flow X pipe-borla exhaust-pulleys-intake tube from airbox to TB-and a diabosport tune, in addition to the deep dish black bullitts with 315's out back.
I was still in shock from beating a Mach 1, but told him to take it to XXTuning (a local Mustang and Sti shop) and have them re-tune it, I told him his tune was garbage basically.
I know alot will say "Well he must not be able to drive" but honestly, we both downshifted, and he actually was ahead of me and got the jump on me. It SUCKS that my basically stock (K&N filter and magnaflow standard style muffler catback) GT was able to beat his modded Mach 1 on the highway... I LOVE my GT! After the mach 1 left, chris and I rewarded ourselves with some baconators (new) from wendy's, which, on that adrenaline high, tasted AMAZING.

I'm still gonna call bad driving on his part and GREAT driving on your part, plus his tune must have been crap like you said. Mach's are a lot faster than a basically stock GT.

Poor guy must havesome real issues with his tune or something else. Doubt the driving coulda been that bad. Maybe if it was from stoplight to stoplight, but on the freeway you don't have to be that great of a driver.
