Default me vs 06 GT?

A friend of mine who I also work with just purchased a used 2006 Mustang GT that came with 4.10 gears and some kinda cat-back, but that seems to be it. So some of the other people at work kept joking about us racing and one thing led to another and now we're going to race for a charity.

So what do you guys think a 06 GT with a cat-back and 4.10 gears could do against my car? I think it's going to be a close race regardless, but we're doing it on a track of course and he'll be on streets and has never ran at the track.. lol

I don't think it will be a close race to be honest.....you have more power, same gearing, lighter car, WAY more track experience ect. An 05+ GT with a catback, and 4.10's probably could run very low 13's, but since he doesn't have track experience I say you waste him!

I think you're going to lay the smack down on his tail. I saw a newer (05-07) Mustang GT at the track Friday night and it was all he could do to hit low 14s. I know the car has lots more potential but this poor guy didn't have a clue how to get it down the track. Plus your power, weight, etc... He's going to be staring at taillights.

If the race was strictly car vs car, youd get burned, but you have the experience on the track with the tires for traction. im betting on you in this circumstance.
