i was wondering what you all thought about an 03 GT vert w/ 4.10, long tubes, pullies, intake goodies and a tune racing an SS gaymaro w/ exhaust and possibly a tune?
- both cars are sticks. |

what would a ss camaro be running the quarter anyway? - stock or slightly modded - Ive seen mid 13's. If thats the case then I wont be far behind.

i had a girl friend running 13.2 with a stock (flowmaster muffler) 2002 trans am with ls1. Its auto with street tires. SS's or WS6s are considerably faster.

Ok, sorry but i call BS on that one
... I mean i know they are quick but not that quick... a manual ss I could see in low 13s - or was it a modded auto?. Ive heard rumors of high 12's out of stockers but, those are from unreliable sources. Regaurdless I guess Im fukd. But you were running wut mid 13's before headers so I dunno, did u use slicks? |

I just went to a camaro site, and a pro driver guy posted a 13.5 with a stock SS - but it says he also ran a 12.89 with a stock z28 (same motor)... which i find hard to believe. basically im seeing low 13s out of manuals

him being a manual leaves a lot out in the open, if your a better driver then he is, then i'd say you have a damn good chance of taking him. Make sure you go from a dig to make it hard on him.

out here at sea level we see WS6 and SS mullet-mobiles pulling 12.8-13.2 regularly. They're very fast and they have a torque arm style suspension so they have TONS more rear grip than a stang and they just leave us sitting at the line spinning tires. They do weigh 800lbs more than a stang on average so there's a little evening out on power/weight but with the traction issues we have an uphill battle the whole way.

he's got you in HP right from the start, and if he can drive good...wave by by to him. They are 13.2-13.4 production car! My buddy has a z28 (ls1) with just exhaust and a tune...he pulled from my boys modded '02 gt. If your on a good tire it will be closer, but if he just launches it like most idiots do on a street radial....he's not going anywere but side to side spinning.

So if I did LCA's? suspension stuff - would that help? I mean I know Im toast highway but like you say from a stop or 1 st gear roll, I may have a better chance. I appreciate all the comments but its really in matierial because if does want to go head to head its going to be at the track.. Im just not that stupid. _ Anyway I was hoping that if I power shifted the fuk outa my car with a good lauch around 3K i could hold him off. Any other suggestions for non-powering adding mods to give me some better times? (besides slicks) Im running Y rated 200mph tires ( but the tread wear is 420AAA ) so theyre rnt going to get sticky, however they are A HELL OF a LOT HARDER to smoke and chirp then stockers.
