I think 1000 posts is a little excessive. 500 seems more reasonable.

Damn right it's great. The only people complaining are the ones under 500.

x2. 1000 posts keeps you contest hungry non-posting bums out of the contests!

Alright guys! Let's try to keep it nice

As I said before, whatever rules we come up with, I promise to do my best to make them fair to EVERYONE here (unless you have less than 50 posts, in which case I suggest you start posting!). Who knows, I might even do TWO contests...but, you'll have to wait and see.

Randomly, if anyone wants to give me an idea of what you'd like to see for a contest, don't hesitate to PM me!

In all seriousness, I think there should be a significant post count limit. I think 500-700 is good. The contests should be for people who contribute to the site and help others out. Not people who are here to sell or dick around.

And yes I know, just because someone has over 500 posts doesnt mean they are helping other people out. But its more likely then someone who only has 50 or so posts.

Ouch!

Well, I guess I'll just have to make it so anyone named Greg is automatically disqualified...

Does that work for you?

In all seriousness, I agree that 50 posts is a bit low (not that I have room to talk, but hey, I'm not eligible!). However, I still think that we need to be fair to everyone. I vote we move on from the topic of post count and focus on something more productive...

Oh! and also, I have ways of making sure that people aren't spamming their way into the contests. Anyone found doing that will be disqualified. Just an FYI. Okay, I'm done.

Isn't that what chicks do? ::innocent smile::

And I think we're crossing wires, hon. I will make sure that the forum regulars are well protected when it comes to contests. There will be no spammers winning. I will be checking to make sure that posts have been made over significant periods of time, and not just the month or week leading up to the contest, okay?

Trust me. I know what I'm doing

How about you can look at the average posts per day and I think it should be around 4 and a post count over 500...
