Plenum / Throttlebody question

Just curious...

on here they list the Accufab Plenum for the 4.6l V8 as giving 9.2hp and 15.1ftlbs dyno'ed. roughly 200bucks

Then, it also shows the Accufab 4.6L 2v 70mm Throttle Body & Plenum Combo
as having the exact same gains... roughly 400 bucks....

So......... what does the $200 throttlebody do then?????

You need both to get those gains

Jack The Ripper 11-15-2005 02:10 PM

I was wondering about that. The plenum states it will achieve that by itself, the throttle body says it will give around 5hp or something.

who knows.

man. i hate mustangs. freakin expencive to get any power on em. My buddy had a 1500 hemi quadcab and extra power was freakin CHEAP. Well, that ended up aa lemon and he has a 2500 cummins diesel on the way, and that gets insane power cheap.

why the hell is it so expencive to get power on a stang?

400bucks for 9hp?.... christ....

You mean opportunistic wallet gouging? <rofl>

Lotta Dodge Ram 1500 HEMI owners and Dodge 2500 Cummings Turbo Diesel owners too. <rofl>

Icefreezen 11-15-2005 02:27 PM

Dont like it dont buy it.........there are other combos that make the same/similar gains

MattJ 11-15-2005 04:40 PM

find yourself a used tb/plenum setup instead. They are usually easy to find if you spot em on big forums.

ROFL. Yeah, i keep tellin him. <laugh>

This piece of **** was in the shop 15 times since he got it less than a year ago. they "fixed" it countless times. He finally got fed up with it.
Here is the funny part, he used to have a Dodge 1500 Sport that constantly broke down, so he traded it in for a Dodge 1500 Hemi Quadcab, and it constantly broke down.
ROFL

Now here is the best part. After fighting with dodge for the past 4 months, he finally got it legally declared a lemon. Now he plans to buy, get this, yes... wait for it... wait for it..... A DODGE 2500 TURBO DIESEL!!!!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

This guy doesent learn his lesson.

00mustang_crazy00 11-15-2005 05:50 PM

he should buy an f150

Jack The Ripper 11-15-2005 05:55 PM

Totally. they got some nice ones at the dealership here, all lifted and badass as ****

MattJ 11-15-2005 05:58 PM

tell him to get a roush f150
:D

zincougt 11-16-2005 03:14 PM

whats even funnier is that he is buying a diesel dodge that uses a cummins which ford owns......... :D

and the plenum and throttle body may only add that much hp to a stock n/a motor but add a power adder and the number will increase, there is only so much air your stock motor can take in.
