Default Beef up a '94

My '94 5.0 is basicly stock except for the addition of a BBK Cold Air and 75 hp wet shot of nitrous. What would be a good way to beef it up to around 400 hp by possibly avoiding the supercharging phase, or do I just need to go blow three grand on it. Thanks alot.

400hp w/out the s/c will be hard to get to. ull still have to spend a few grand to get there tho. id say build the top end plus bolt ons and u should be some where close or over 300hp then add ur 75 shot and u should be close. u also might wanna beef up the tranny after all that.

building the top end and not the bottem can lead to problems...

just dont go over board... ya wanna make sure that the block can handle it...

check out aprils issue of 5.0 mustang and super fords. they did an article on trickflows kit, i think it made 290hp and 316tq. the stock block can handle it. theres plenty of high mileage 5.0s with h/c/i and stock bottoms that are doing fine. so i dont see how it could lead to problems if everything is done right.

its just something that i was told to never do... ya do one thing then ya do the other...

now w/ that set up I would do the bottem end... i've seen people rebuild one end of an engine and a week later the valves are ticking and such...

with a 218->290hp jump... ya might as well do the bottem end...

and really... how much do ya think 5.0mustang gets from trick flow for that add... that mag as more ads than any mag that i have ever looked at...

im just tellin the kid what works and what 100s of people have already done. like i said take a look around corral or stangnet and ask how many people are running around on stock bottom ends with h/c/i. and the comment about tf, are u serious?!?! thats like one of the more popular kits out there right now. do urself a favor and do some homework.

btw heres the tf kit..
http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...8&Ne=30&view=1

theres a few more kits out there. ford racing, holley also makes one. or u could always make ur own combo. afr/edelbrock/tf make good heads. lots of intake choices. and theres tons of off the shelf cams out there or u could get one grinded.

You not understanding me pal...

I'm tryin to say... if yer gonna frop $2100 on the top end... Ya might as well beef up the bottem end...

No doubt that nowadays w/ all the new automotive tech its safe and ya wont run into problems...

I'm just sayin, drop $2K on top, and do some work on the bottem...

it the past i've have seen it leed to problems (personally... so dont tell me to go do my ****in Homework asshole)... doesnt necessarily mean ya will run into them...

1st i was here before u, i just choose not to post misc bs unlike u. i was adding to the post, u came in running ur gums.
i didnt come here to start anything. just giving the person some things to look at. what did u do? build the bottom end cuz itll lead to problems? why? if its put together well itll be fine. if the motor feels solid and not alot of signs of stress or oil leaks everywhere. then i say go for it.
heres something crazy, ive actually seen stock bottom ends with h/c/i and a blower even turbos!
do some looking around maybe some reading u might learn something. o and im glad ur dad builds race races?! race cars maybe, got any pics? seriously. stick around maybe u can learn something from ur pops.

ill say it again..
clean ur engine. if u love ur car ud take care of it. or do us all a favor and give it to someone who will.

now go play or something, maybe blues clues is on tv.

father built race cars...

and i wasnt the one who came out w/ the "smack" talk...

the only thing i was trying to say is if yer gonna drop $2100 on the top end... then ya might as well do the bottem end...

i wasnt saying that you were wrong... if ya go back and read my reply to yer 1rst post ya'll see that all i really said was not to go over board to stay on the safe side...

just cause you can type something in google and paste links here dont mean ****...
just cause you see pictures online dont mean ****...

at no point was i contridicting anything you said... i was stating that I have seen and experienced trouble from rebuilding one end of an engine...

Get a grip, jerk face
