Default Clutch cable trouble with UPR

So recently i found that my clutch cable was broken on the plastic piece that sits against the bellhousing. Before finding that problem, I replaced my clutch quadrant to a UPR single hook speed release and a UPR firewall adjuster. I remember hearing somewhere that I should use a stock clutch cable with these two.
Now that I have replaced everything, the OEM cable is very long, to the point my firewall adjuster is extended out pretty far, about 2.5-3 inches....should I be using an adjustable cable as well?

No! aftermarket cables are junk. Sounds like you have a stretched cable which happens over time. Just replace it with a new one and do work.

I already replaced the cable with another OEM one, but its still pretty long, I'm worried about the firewall adjuster breaking from sitting so far out
