Default 7.5" Rear End Question

Anybody know how much abuse a 7.5" rear end can take? I am dealing on a 92 LX that was a father/son project. It has a slightly modified 351W and 5 speed. They left the 7.5 in it (was originally a 4 cyl. car).

I'm worried that if I buy it the 351W and 5 speed is going to kill that rear end. I don't really want to put in an 8.8" right away. I'd like to leave it as is for now.

Thanks.

One hard launch, or to much power in 2nd with traction and the ring gear is gonna say good bye and try to come out the diff cover. Thats way to much motor for that rear end. I would be scared to push more then 300rwhp on a 7.5" rear end.

if it were a posi 7.5 out of say an 85 GT you could probably break it with a pair of sticky tires but a 7.5 from a 4cyl car is not a posi rear end so most likely you will never hook up, so i'd say you'll just spin the **** out of one tire
