new engine

going to look at a 351 out of a 1986 f-250 pickup tomorrow. its a complete engine heads and everything. my questions are:

1. what is the rated HP for that engine

2. is that a 351 windsor

3. will it fit in my 95gt

i here that the 351 out of the ford trucks is different than the ones they used in the mustangs is that tru??

thanks in advance.

It is a windsor and it's rated at 210 hp 305 tq I have no idea if it will fit your gt though

Ben is correct on hp and torque, and it indeed is a Windsor. I've heard of them being able to fit into sn95s with "minor modification", but it's been a while since I've heard of that. And the one guy i knew who had tried it sort of disappeared and I haven't heard from him in over a year so I can't really ask him if it worked and if so how, so I'd take the measurements and do all of your clearance calculations and then judge it yourself.

Another swap you might consider is a pi 4.6 or 5.4 Those engines both fit and you will get better numbers from them

No a 4.6 and a 5.4 wont fit in a 95 IIRC. 95 gt's still used 302's. in 96 they started using 4.6. different mounts. I have no idea if the 302 mounts are the same as 351 but i bet there pretty similer

You can bolt a 351 into place where a 302 used to be as it uses the same motor mounts. If he really wanted to go to a modular motor he would have to swap K members with a 96-04 mustang GT.
