looking for solution to fan belt issue
hi guys i am new to the forum. i am putting a '93 HO motor in a 1966 volvo p1800. the motor is in and carbureted.
i have removed the power steering, air pump, and a/c. so i would like to just run a serpentine belt from the crank around the perimiter of the water pump and alternator. with the reverse rotation pump this is a problem. i have not been able to find a company that makes an idler pulley which would sit where the power steering pump would be and allow me to run the belt properly. any ideas?? i have considered using the earlier, standard rotating water pump and switching to the serpentine pulley. i have been told i need to use a spacer between the serpentine pulley and water pump housing in order to do this. i would rather just get an idler pulley. i have put the power steering pump on for now, but have no where to run the lines and i figure the pump will seize without fluid in it. is this the case?? help would be appreciated. thanks, james |
