help

try the simple stuff first, wires ,connections, grounds. I had a similar problem, it was a loose MSD wire. Does your car have all stock ignition or any upgrades?

G-P 04-15-2008 09:41 PM

its all stock, i tryed turning it over again today and same thing, unfortunately the problem has not fixed its self :( i made sure all the sensors and everything were plugged in and all the wires were connected but you think its something electrical? thanx for the reply

Hi, you said it was low on oil? you better check when was last time you got your oil checked!! If you don't have enough of oil you could break the engine!

oils full now so is the coolant, i changed the coil and all the spark plugs and wires, still no spark

Its the could possible be the ignition module for the distributor.

G-P 04-19-2008 11:01 AM

would any one know how much a whole new distributor would cost ? or is it possible to replace small pieces of it, another guy told me he had the same problem and it was the 'distributor stater'...i have no idea what that is

parts

try a cap and rotor, module definetly, a whole distributor is about 200.+ make sure theres a new or fully charged battery, cables are not corroded at both ends, posts, ground and starter connections. If theres no spark, you either have to test for problems or do part replacement to eliminate things one at a time. A buddy thats a ford mechanic or at least has some spare parts so you dont have to buy parts would be a big time and money saver. keep at it you`ll find it, before you know it you`ll be out enjoying it.

I had similar troubles with my old 88 Lincoln Mark VII (same 5.0L H.O. motor). I had a bad ignition relay the 1st time. The 2nd time it happened (a year later), it was a ignition module, like spike suggested.

Good luck,:D
