My fuel pump in my 89 LX hatch is not turning on. i have checked cut off switch and relays, all seem to be good. any ideas?

well if u have already checked the relay and inertia switch then theres only one thing left to do,check the connector at the tank,its a pink wire with a blue trace,see if u have 12 volts when you have someone cycle the key,being thjat theres only a 2 sec buzz. if you have power then u gotta drop the tank and pluck the pump out.

i'll give it a try, do you know which mustangs that have the fuel pumps mounted outside the tank?

yours should be in the tank,unless it has an aftermarket external pump.

if its bad id highly recommend a bigger pump. The stock ones a POS and if you have to pull the tank might as well get a better one that will support mods later one. Ive had a 190LPH in mine for quite some time. I swear it made a difference on the top end, if i remember right the stock pump is in the 80-90LPH range witch is pathetic for a V-8.
