Removing The Catalytic Converter

Hi guys this my 1st post on this forum and i really need your help i have been always a big fan of mustangs...so i finally got one which is a MUSTANG GT 1995
with a 5.0 liters engine..and i have this question...im in mexico and i want to get a powerful sound out of my exhaust....so i bought 2 flowmasters and have them installed on my car, now a friend told me that i will gain more horsepower and a more powerful sound if i remove both catalytic converters from my car,
DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND THAT ? whats gonna happen if my car has sensors on both catalytic converters, do they put them on the straight pipe or they will cancel both sensors..cause a friend told me that when he did that his car started to throw black smoke so he got to find those sensors and put them back on the pipe without the catalytic converters.....so what do you recommend
i really want to get a powerful sound out of my car and im affraid of doing something wrong....here in mexico isnt illegal to not have the catalytic converters on any car, so thats not a problem....im really worried about the sensors, i dont know if my car has those sensors on the catalytic converters, so i dont know what to do, can you help me please ?

all you would need to do is a buy an "off road" meaning it has no cats mid pipe. THats the part of the exhaust that connects the factory manifolds to the catback. You buy one bolt it on and it will get louder and be a bit faster. It wont mess your motor up, but it may toss a check engine light which can be fixed by "MIL eliminators" these fool the ecu into thinking it still has working cats.

THis is the item i am talking about.

sorry but im not understanding

im a noob on these things..so i dont have any idea of what your talking about....to see if im understanding right, if i remove both cats im gonna get the check engine light on, even if they put the sensors back on the straight pipe....and whats this about the
MIL Eliminators ? can this be done with the guys that are gonna removed the cats or do i have to take it somewhere else ?
can you be more specific on this please.....thank you for all your help ....

you are wrong...

------------------------------
1994-1995 ford mustang = 302 (5.0) -----------> OBD I

1996-1998 ford mustang = 281 (4.6) -----------> OBD II

You don't need mil eliminators for OBD I cars... its a waste of money and does nothing...

You simple put the O2 sensors where they belong...

then what i need to do is

once they removed the catalytic converters from my car they need to put the sensors from those catalytic converters back on the straight pipe by making a hole on it or something like that, and that will be it ?
and whats OBD I...does it have anything to do with this ? whats the difference?
so if i remove the cats am i gonna have the check engine light on, is there any risk that my car can start throwing black smoke from the exhaust or anything that can happen to the engine ?

My car is a mustang gt 1995 with a 5.0 liters engine...
thanks for all your help guys

the best sound you will get out of your car will be just straight pipes, with no mufflers. it will be loud as hell and sound awsome!

Im not sure about the rules in mexico but, thats the loudest it will get... no cats, or mufflers :D

OBD I is the computer that runs the car...

In 96 ford needed to meet with emissions and other automotive laws... this is when ford began using OBD II

That shit doesn't make a difference to you though... just buy an offroad H pipe and slap the son r bitch on...

When you buy an offroad H-pipe all ya need to do is take off the old... and put in the new... the offroad H will have holes for the O2 sensors...

As far as the results... You will make more TQ and HP, and get better MPG... and it will sound much better...

You will not get a check engine light... unless you have an exhaust leak...

And run a set of chambered mufflers such as flowmaster, mac, borla, hooker... (as apposed to straight through muffs such a slp)
